I HAVE DIFFICULTY READING WIRING SCHEMATICS. AFTER STUDYING SAME I REALIZED IT JUST MEANT TO CUT OFF EXISTING 2 WIRES AND CONNECT NEW ONES USING SUPPLIED CONNECTORS AND MODIFY EXISTING MOUNTING POSITION AS NEW SWITCH IS NOT AN EXACT FIT! EASY.

Comments about BWD/Intermotor Fuel Pump Cutoff Switch:

I ordered this switch to replace the fuel pump shut off switch in the trunk of a 1999 mustang gt. The website says it is an exact fit, I wanted to make sure so I asked customer support, they said it is an exact fit. So I order the part, take it to my friends house to put it in... completely different part. It would be possible to do a little wiring work and get this switch to work, but it is not what I was looking for and is NOT an EXACT fit like the website and customer support say. It is also a fair amount bigger than the factory one.

Hi Renee, For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes or Chilton repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

Hi Mr-Gary, great question! GM cars and trucks use an oil pressure cut off relay to disable the fuel pump. If the vehicle is involved in a crash, this cuts power to the fuel pump when it senses no oil pressure.
