Q:where is the ICM located on my 1996 gmc sonoma 2.2 engine
A:Hi Pat, glad to help you! The ignition control module is located inside the distributor. You need to take the cap off and its a little flat mechanism that the wires are plugged in and its under the rotor setup. To get more specific information on the location of this part I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, not only will it show the location and also explain how to install, but you'll find it handy for many more projects on your vehicle. The repair manual part number is 24071.
