      ? if this part fails would i lose or would not have any spark to my wires to the spark plug or would the car not start. i had checked it last nite nite and it seems i have no ark from the wire to the tip of the screw driver i was using to creat an ark. i had checked all my wire harnesses and fuses in engine and trunk copartment and no blown fuses, pls tell me its the coil.............

        A:

        If the ignition coil goes bad, you will have very little to no spark at all coming from it. Without any spark the vehicle could possibly not start. There may be other issues however. Without being right there with the car, I can not be for certain what is causing your car to not start.

        if your not getting spark to plugs, probably in distributer, make sure battery is turning engine fast enough. If you don't know how auto parts store can test coil, they can also test your control module inside the HEI disributer, if these check out, then it's most likely your distr. cap and rotor. IF there is black soot carbon it will mess up the fire, carbon buildup from those carbon coil bushings if equiped, change to solid bronze bushing.
