Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Idle Air Control Valve:

BWD is a cheap replacement, don't fall for the lower cost. This is the second one I've replaced in a year. first one worked fine for a year then started humming really bad, new one doesn't let idle come down for about 5 minutes. Save yourself the headache and spend a little more on a better part, it'll last longer.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Idle Air Control Valve:

Installed in 97 Town Car, immediately corrected stalling problem. 2 months later started causing a loud (fog horn) hum that could be heard hundreds of feet from car. Turned out this replacement part was the culprit & also was causing vehicle to start stalling at traffic lights again. I would expect better from BWD.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Idle Air Control Valve:

My '97 Crown Vic began to lose its idle control ability. The IAC (idle air control) would get stuck all the way closed (die when cold, idle real slow when warm). I cleaned it a few times with 'choke spray', and that would cure it for a while. Finally I replaced it with this unit and now its fixed. It's very easy to install. It came with two gaskets, one thick and one thin. I used the thick one. Advance had it in stock for [$]

                    A:

Because you don't have your reciept you will need to go to the store you bought the part from. That is the only store with record of your purchase. Gasket sealent is always a good idea when installing a part, both for ease of installation and for an improved seal.
