This is the second blower speed resister I installed in this car. Only this time I went for the better one not the lower price. Smart move, this one had the entire circuit board sealed in a rubber/latex coating. That was not the case on the cheep one and thats why it corroded at exposed circuits.

Comments about BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

I replaced the blower motor resistor in a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier. I too, like the most of the other owners here lost all my fan speeds except high. PROS: This resistor was the best design since it's covered by the epoxy coating. It was also the best price, even beats other competitors. CONS: I'm not as young as I use to be, with that said, I attempted to take the resistor out with the seat in but, that didn't work. I then took the seat out and attempted again. The major drawback is the two screws that hold the resistor in place. If you don't have a socket set that has angled adapters be prepared for a difficult remove/install. I attempted to use a standard set but, after realizing that wouldn't work broke out the angled adapter to get the job done. Expect at least a two to three hour remove/install. Good luck!

Used to replace corroded resistor in an 01 Cavalier. Gave me back the lowest two speeds I was missing. Also, this part has a protective coating on it to prevent the part from corroding, unlike the factory unit.

Comments about BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

I ordered this part for my 2000 Chevy Cavalier Z24 to replace the OEM blower motor resistor that was failing. Out of the four fan speeds, only the two highest speeds functioned prior to replacing the resistor. In my Cavalier, I removed the blower itself (located on the passenger side wall under the glove box) then disconnected the OEM resistor which was obviously in poor condition. Replaced it with this BWD and now all my fan speeds are functioning again.

The BWD blower motor resistor is designed very well. The black epoxy sealant they used to cover the entire PCB will give the resistor a much longer life than ones that don't utilize this epoxy. I am very pleased with the product and being able to order it online for in-store pick up was a breeze.

In my Cavalier, it was easier to install it if you take the passenger front seat out (four bolts). Much easier to remove blower motor, then access the blower motor resistor to replace it with this new one!

A quite bit difficult to replace on it under the dash but happy with it works so well. Also price is good deal.

Only time will tell but I have a feeling that if AC Delco had put the protective coating on the OEM part I wouldn't have had to replace it. Plus it was cheaper than the AC Delco part.

It is located under the dash on the passenger side of the car right behind the blower motor. You will need a wrench set & socket set to replace the blower motor resistor.
