Comments about BWD HVAC Blower Motor Resistor:

This is a piece that will fit a 2001 ford focus if the blower fan only works on high and low. This is a good place to start, and i have replaced on a few vehicles. advance auto website order pichk up in store feature is great. When it comes to this piece, it is held in wioth 1 screw and in a tight place behind the glove box. remove glove box itmes and open glove box completely and let it drop down, you can feel the piece against the firewall and has a connection on it. i removed piece and then the connection, and did connection before i replcaed. It is a tight fit and you may lose patience, but you should be able to stay calm and get your hand in there and be done in 5 minutes.

My name is Hoffa from AskHoffa and this product was perfect. The website order pick up in local store feature was simple, easy and a good price with a coupon code. Win win I say, The piece installed into the 2001 ford focus in about 5 minutes. A small hand would help as their is 1 screw that is used to hold in place. You will have no problem doing this project, just pop out the glove box itmes, lower the glove box with the 2 squeez tabs, and look to the left behond the glove box on the forewall. you will see the piece, with 1 screw onthe bottom. Unplug connector and remove screw take out old piece and then do the same steps in reverse. Good Luck, great aftermarket piece and more than half the dealer cost. do it yourself with a flashlight and screw driver, good luck. Hoffa

                A:

The blower motor resistor could possibly be the problem. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.

This should be behind your glove box and on the box that contains the majority of the A/C components like the blend doors and such.

The resistor should be located on the duct work under the dash. Sitting in the passenger seat facing forward it is to the left of the blower motor mounted on the duct work firewall.
