      Comments about BWD Pigtail/Socket:

I found on my Ranger that the wire colors on the pigtail were different then my Truck, the Black and orange wires were reversed, so be sure to go by wire position in the old plug rather then wire colors, other then works fine, have all speeds back on the heater now

        Comments about BWD Pigtail/Socket:

This is a must have part when replacing the heater resistor. It's just good mechanical sense. The old connector may be dried out or deformed from years of heat and weather. Use crimp style connectors or solder if you have the tools.

            Comments about BWD Pigtail/Socket:

This product is a must when changing the heater core fan resistor. The OEM plug is usually dry rotted and brittle, breaks when removed. My suggestion is to check the availability from the store prior to removing the old parts. If the parts are available, remove the old plug and resistor and see if you need one or both parts(the resistor and or plug). Buying both the resistor and plug together will save a trip back to the store and unnecessary frustration. Thankfully both parts were in stock at my local store because I had to make two trips. I was successful and the fan works great. Just in time for a central NY winter.

I needed to change the blower motor resistor and when I got the plug off it was melted and corroded. Glad Advance had this in stock. Worked great on my 99 E150.

              • Q:

Are the colored wires supposed to match identical to the OEM? I replaced this and went with where the wires came out of the socket from the old, and it didn't work. The colors were off too, but I thought that was just a generic color problem.
