Worked so-so... problematic contacts in switch

By

from Knoxville, TN

Pros

  • Direct Fit

Cons

  • Knob Shaft Release Button

Best Uses

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Headlight Switch:

Bought after my original burned up. Noticed the pigtail was damaged and the fuse had blown. Replaced the harness and fuse, put this switch in. The rheostat contact that makes the cabin light come on made contact with the small tab that comes out of the unit which shorted the interior/marker lamps and caused them to flicker off and on when the knob turned past this point. Also, the knob shaft engage/release button was very difficult to get to latch on to the shaft. The burned out switch being replaced (and the Motorcraft switch that replaced this one) engaged/disengaged flawlessly. Returned it for a refund, great customer service at my local store as always. Went with a more expensive but higher quality Motorcraft switch. All is well.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Headlight Switch:

Had headlights go out one night then they went back on, truck has over 200k so this was replaced for piece of mind. Affordable enough not to risk having headlights go out unexpectedly again. Be careful removing connector as the can be brittle , and also look for melting on connector which can be a common problem , mine was fine. Also replaced the stem

The only part of this install that wasn't easy was getting to the old switch. And that wasn't to bad at all, Maybe 30 or 40 min. It's always better to do it yourself!! Save you money and the best part is the gratitude of doing yourself..

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Headlight Switch:

It fit and works perfectly. No mods was needed. All the plugs and light switch rod and knob fix just like the factory one. The new switch restored all my lights in the dash back to working normally. No more lights flickering on and off. I will recommend it to my friends should they need one for there ford trucks or cars. I am very pleased with the service I received from my local Advance Auto store.

You would most likely have to remove it from the back side of the dash depending on what vehicle you have.
