    Comments about BWD Headlight Relay:

Biggest problem I had was getting the old relay off the mounting rail in the 1991 Cougar. New one snapped into place, plugged up, and now we have ABS brakes again (this unit replaced a failed ABS pump motor relay.) Only con - and being a universal replacement I understand why! - is that this relay isn't brown, like the old ABS relay was (to help identify it in the cluster of relays it's in.) So I wrapped some brown electrical tape around it to help identify it in six months or so.

        A:

With reference to your inquiry on the BWD Headlight Relay - part# R647, your 1984 Ford E-350 does not have a relay for the head lights and the problem should be with the dimmer switch. The dimmer switch would be located on the floor to the left of the brake pedal. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For any further assistance, you may also call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
