My truck started up fine in the mornings, but after it warmed up or had been sitting in the heat all day, it would have to crank a few seconds or even had to give it some gas to fire up. Replace numerous parts before I got to this one. Took less than 10 mins to install and wah-la, PROBLEM SOLVED. I suggest if you have similar problems to start with this. If you pull the vacuum hose off and it leaks any fuel at all, then it's no good and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Bought product after the vacuum hose split at connection to the regulator and gas leaked. I assumed the "w/vacuum hose" in description meant it came with the hose, however it did not. Cannot find this part anywhere.

Wasn't sure if I needed the brass clip….the old one didn't have it so I didn't use it.. once I figured out which way the silver bracket faced, the regulator installed in one click. I'm sure it would have cost $250 to get installed.

14 yr old original regulator was leaking gas into the vac line. Removal was fairly quick and easy. Had to use a C clamp to press in the new regulator since o-ring tight. Be careful when replacing the o-rings into the cavity. Small parts can fall easily into engine compartment and get lost. Before removal notice holding clamp is directional.
After installation transmission shifted quicker and more positive. Slight acceleration improvement also. No more fuel leaking into the vac system. On YouTube there is a video about testing this regulator if you have a fuel pressure test gauge.
Would have rated it 5 stars but product seems overpriced for what it is.

My 99 Silverado was having a hard time restarting after having warmed up, no issue starting cold. My vacuum line was full of fuel as others have stated, which is a sign the regulator is bad. Install was pretty easy, I used a c clamp to hold it in place while installing the clip. Make sure you remove all the pieces of the old part before installing the new part. The old gasket and filter got stuck in the fuel rail initially. Overall a very easy install, took 5 minutes.

Hi, good question! The fuel pressure regulator on your GMC Sierra woud be mounted in the center of the fuel bar on the driver's side of the engine. Some of the signs of bad fuel pressure regulator are: Degraded spark plugs, cold start stalling, black smoke, decreased mileage, smelling fuel in the oil system. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.
