        A mechanic advised to change this part along with my sloppy ignition key tumblers to cure constant failure of my Mass Air Flow Sensor. So far so good.

            The Fuel Pressure Regulator failure symptoms are: Engine runs rough, Engine stumbles or sputters, Engine runs very rich - black smoke from the exhaust, Engine will not start, Engine starts but stalls shortly after startup, Noisy fuel pump, Noticeable decrease in fuel mileage.           I have a 96 ranger 4.0. I've replaced the MAF sensor, Air Temp sensor, Oxygen sensors, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, plug wires. I still have a rough ideal and reduced power. Could the regulator be blown and causing the problem. If so, how do I check it?
