Hi Pat, great question! The relay could possibly be the problem on your Chevy Blazer. However, the answer to this is bit more complicated than you think. This needs an expertise to determine. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.

I have a 95 saturn sl2 won't go into reverse could it be the valve body ,or do you think it might just be loose input shaft nut? Or maybe this relay ?
Asked on 11/4/2012 by Joe from Louisville ,ky

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

This problem may be caused by the input shaft nut, the forward (2nd)/reverse solenoid in the valve body which is under the top cover beneath the battery and the seal on the forward/reverse dog clutch. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.

          A:

You would need a set of manifold gauges to properly check to see if the AC has a full charge. Usually if the level is low, the compressor will not come on. There is a pressure sensor in the system that cuts off the compressor when it is low on 134a refrigerant, to prevent damage to the compressor. You could try adding refrigerant, using a kit, but if you are low, there is a leak somewhere in the system and it will continue to be a problem until that leak is fixed and the system recharged correctly. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified A/C mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

if ur coolant (r22 or whatever) is low then the pressure sensor will not engage the ac clutch... usually takes one or maybe two cans in the line for the clutch to engage...
