could this be why my suv have a rough idel at times and jurks when driving when below 3 gran but it dont do it all the time ? a 97 mercury mountaineer

The EGR valve and or even the idle air control valve may be the possible cause of the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
