Easy to install. You will need a 1" wrench or an adjustable wrench and a little thread sealant. You will loose no engine coolant so don't worry about making a mess or having to top off the coolant. It took all of about 10 minutes on my 1995 Mustang GTS and now my coolant fan works as it is supposed to.

Use an adjustable wrench to remove and replace.

That is the easiest way to do this one. It is in a tight spot.

My coolant sensor went bust so I go where I always go, Advance, of course they had the part in stock and an hour later my truck was back up and running. The only difficulty I had with this part was that its packed in there pretty good, so it took a little while to get the sensor out, but it went in great and works perfect!

Bought a sensor from autozone and it fit correctly. Put it in the car and it wouldnt start. I tried 2 more of the same part and they did not work. Went to advance and bought this part. Much better construction than the AutoZone one, copper threads instead of plastic ones! Plugged it in and the car runs perfect!

Hi William, To get more specific information on the location of engine coolant temperature sensor I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, not only will it show the location, but you'll find it handy for many more projects on your vehicle.

Hi Dick Sitler, the coolant temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature of the engine coolant of an internal combustion engine. The readings from this sensor are then fed back to the Engine control unit (ECU). This data from the sensor is then used to adjust the fuel injection and ignition timing.
