People, they make two different ones as listed for Fords. When you go to the store I was asked this. There is a clip on one and one with two bolt holes. Make sure you buy the right one. They both do the same thing but they have different plug ins. The other part# is EGR155. I see comments where they say it doesn't fit. No, you bought the wrong one.

Ford Mustang

Did not fit Ford Wiring Harness. Would recommend if it fits your particular car though since it's half the price of the factory part.

Comments about BWD EGR Valve Sensor:

I had replaced this piece and the EGR to service a PO401 code.

The part was difficult to find on my SO's 2001 Mercury Sable DOHC. It ended up being behind the engine and I needed to remove the plastic windshield cowl to get to it. Other locations may be under the throttle body intake tube, or below the TB behind the EGR. Some people remove the intake manifold to get at the sensor...I have large clumsy hands and had no trouble reaching it with the manifold in place. The hardest part was finding the sensor.

On the plus side, this also let me find out that we DEFINITELY needed to get a new cabin air filter as well, as it was right in front of my face when I took off the cowl.

Get the hoses, too. The stock hoses were very short and, as it turned out, the reason the code was being thrown was because the inlets on the original part had snapped off and was stuck inside the original hose. These are not typical vacuum hoses--they are special-made to hold up to the high-heat at the location where it is installed. DO NOT try to use the cheap by-the-foot hose, it'll just melt.

Comments about BWD EGR Valve Sensor:

Had a P0401 error causing the check engine light to come on. Checked EGR and all passage ways to EGR which were clear. Manually operated EGR and fond to be not sticking and when my finger was over the vacuum release the valve held its position and fully release when my finger was removed. This left the DPFE as the primary culprit. When removing DPFE one side of the vacuum lines broke off in the rubber hose. After removal of how found blockage as well as high contents of carbon in the DPFE. Cleared hose and replacement of DPFE resolved the issue.

Great idea to have Advance Auto check engine lights. The employee came out, found the code, had the part, showed me where it was. I went home and installed the part in less than a half hour. No more check engine light.

Hi lugnut, the EGR valve sensor may be the possible cause of the problem on your 2002 Ford Taurus. However, the answer to this is bit more complicated than you think. This needs an expertise to determine. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.

The DPFE sensor is located next to the EGR vacuum regulator. The DPFE sensor is a rectangular box shaped sensor, held on by 2 nuts. It has two exhaust lines going to the EGR tube.

If the egr valve is defective i would recommend replacing it rather than cleaning it.
