  • Q:

How do I adjust the length so the s1034 door switch will not get crushed? The adjustment is all the way back.

Hi Chuck, great question! This door jamb switch would be self adjusting. The nut is a collar that the center portion is snugly fitted into. A new one may stick out too far but once the door is closed the center portion slides inward to self adjust. If the collar does not fit snug onto the center portion when the door is closed the center can slide in too far and not allow the switch to work properly.

  • Q:

My door jamb switch had a spring loaded pin that was held to the switch body but the collar broke and the pin popped out. This disabled the buzzer and the dome light. Can this switch pin be put in the OEM switch body. to replace the entire switch requires tearing down the inner trim panel.

  • Q:

    HOW IS THE LENGTH ADJUSTED?
USING A SMALL SCREWDRIVER, THE COLLAR CAN BE SEPARATED FROM THE SLEEVE, BUT THE SLEEVE DOES NOT SLIDE OUTWARD TOWARDS THE PLUNGER. MY SWITCH IS ALREADY BROKEN FROM TRYING TO FORCE THE SLEEVE

      A:

Yes, a Phillips-head screwdriver would be helpful to remove the combination switch assembly retaining screws. Pull the combination switch assembly away from the panel and separate the electrical connector at the rear. This is done by pressing the tab on the black housing and pulling. Press the release button on the bottom of the switch and separate the knob and its shaft from the headlight switch. For further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
