Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Combination Switch:

Initially thought it would not line up with the holes but it is just the same as the OEM product at half of the price. Still working great with no issues and the 1 year warranty backs it up.

    • Q:

Do you have to remove the steering wheel to replace this part or just the bezels or cover on the steering column ?
Asked on 1/10/2013 by Barger from Kingsport Tn

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

No, there is no need to remove the steering wheel while replacing the combination switch (BWD Combination Switch - Part No. S2145). Unscrew the screws on the bottom of the steering wheel column cover, using a cross-point screwdriver. Pull the bottom of the steering wheel column cover forward and down to remove it. Unscrew the screw on the top of the steering wheel column cover with a cross-point screwdriver and pull the cover up and forward to remove it. Unscrew the two screws that hold the headlight switch to the steering column. It may be a tight fit with the steering wheel in the way, but you should be able to access the screws with the driver side door open. Pull the headlight switch off the steering column. Unplug the electrical connector running to the headlight switch. Connect the electrical connector to the new headlight switch and secure the headlight switch to the steering column using the factory mounting screws and a cross-point screwdriver. Reassemble the steering column cover. Installation is the reverse of removal. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
