    i have a 01 s10 and the service engine light keeps on comming on and the code is p0446 and i was wondering if this part is what causing the code to come on. i have already replaced the canister vent soleniod

      A:

      It could be many things, a loose gas cap, vacuum line off of fuel tank or evaporative charcoal canister, bad evaporative vent solenoid or wires to it. Being that the gas cap is the most common item, it's likely that the gas cap is not tight enough making a seal, or needs to be replaced.

      The canister purge solenoid should be located in the EVAP purge pipe between the EVAP purge solenoid and the EVAP canister. The service port is identified by a green colored cap.
