THIS SAID EXACT FIT FOR A GMC SAVANA IT WAS NOT..I HAD TO ALTER OPENING IN THE SHROUD NO TEMPLATE INCLUDED SO CALIPERS AND A DREMEL WITH A BALL BIT TO ENLARGE THE OPENING. IT DID FIX THE PROBLEM OF MISSING BLOWER SPEEDS. IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL CIRCUIT BOARD HOPEFULLY TIME WILL PROVE IT TO BE A BETTER DESIGN THAN THE OEM

eventually fit and worked; however, had to modify resistor mounting flanges and modify duct opening to accommodate portions of new resistor (increase opening) Bottom line, if you are a novice be prepared to modify even though it is direct replacement on 2000 van

                    A:

Hello Kurt, I am happy to assist with this. Based on your description, I recommend checking to determine if the blower motor is in fact getting power. To do this, let's first validate that any fuse or relay for the circuit is operational. Once that has been done, unplug the harness from the blower motor and check for power (on the vehicle side) using either a non-powered test light or with a multimeter set to DC voltage. If the test lamp or multimeter indicates voltage at the connector yet the motor does not operate, the motor is most likely faulty. If you find the connector is not receiving voltage and all fuses and/or relays are verified as good, the next step is to check the blower motor resistor followed by the fan control switch in the dashboard. A Haynes manual should have wiring schematics for the circuit to assist you with this project. Lastly, if you are still uncertain I recommend taking the vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.

                    A:

Yes, the blower motor resistor has to be replaced in your vehicle. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower motor assembly. Remove the blower motor resistor assembly retaining screws. Then remove the blower motor resistor assembly from the evaporator and blower module assembly. Finally install the new blower motor resistor. Also please note that the blower motor relay is an integral part of the blower motor resistor and cannot be serviced separately from the resistor. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

                    A:

The blower motor resistor might be your problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
