Mine of course went out in the first cold week of winter and my wife was not happy driving to work in the cold. But I was very happy with this product. It may not look like the original part out of the box but it works just as well. The only down side is you have to splice the wires for the new clip going into the unit. The only suggestion I would have to someone installing is make sure the connector is toward the front and not the back. If the connector is toward the back you don't get very much length for the wires going to the blower and makes for a tight fit.

Cord is not long enough

Cord that connects the blower is NOT long enough on a 2003 envoy. Had to splice and extend it.

You should plug into blower motor first and then to the module. Butt connectors included would be nice. Happy with product. 1/2 hour install.

            works great

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

2004 Trailblazer, perfect fit. Remove two screws on bottom dash panel below glove box(7mm socket). Blower motor resistor is behind blower towards firewall. Two screws to remove it(5.5mm socket). Remove two wiring plugs, power in and at blower. Cut plug off connection from power in, three wires. Splice into wires of five pin connector on new resistor. Plug connector into blower first, wire would not reach when I installed resistor first. Install new resistor, test, and install dash panel. Blower was not shutting off with car, but it does now. FLAWLESS!

Easy installation without hacking into wire harness .Simply remove wire retaining clip from both new and old plugs and use a pick tool or small screwdriver to release wire and pin from socket. Then the three wires from original socket will clip into new socket.Install wire retaining clip and plug in.

                    2004 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Z71 Z series VIN

is it possible for a brand new one of these to work for a few days and then go bad? I replaced both the resistor and blower at the same time and the blower stopped working again and then started to only work intermittedly and now it stays on while the keys are NOT in it. have to pull the blower fuse under the hood to get it to turn off. Is this due to the extreme cold weather-5 degrees to 10 degrees the past few weeks? Additionally,it was louder and blew air faster than the OEM. Is there anything else that could be causing this issue?

Hi ndavis675, without the presence of the vehicle we could neither diagnose the problem nor provide you with a 100% answer. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.
