Blower motor stopped working, checked google, found out this part may be the problem, watched a youtube video, ordered this part and in 20 minutes the motor was working again! I am NOT a mechanic, just a woman on a budget and for $14 I fixed it myself. Ordering process was easy, and the store had it ready for pickup, couldn't get any easier!

Blower only worked on high speed. Replaced the resistor. Now the blower works but the highest speed and the one below are actually the same speed. I beleive the resistor is not giving the correct resistance at all settings to change the blower speed.

It has a slightly different form factor on the hind side, though it fits just right. Extremely easy to install (2 screws). I have a Town & Country Touring 2006 without an auto temp system. This worked perfectly.

Really bad burning odor for about the first 30 minutes of operation. The instructions should have warned about it so that we would not think that something was really wrong.

Could not be simpler to install.Overall quality seems to be very good. Alot smaller than OEM resistor module. Only real drawback is the slight odor the unit produces I believe this is caused by the wrap on the unit. Overall extremely pleased with part and ease of installation.

Hi Patience, that's a good question! The fit and function remains the same for both RU1055 and RU1055P. The only difference is RU1055 will be an exact O.E (Original Equipment) replacement while RU1055P matches the original, designed with the professional installer in mind. P-Series product competes with the OE and dealerships.

One owner mentioned it was behind the glove box in their 2001 Chrysler Town & Country. I recommend a repair manual to get more detailed instructions on the replacement of your blower motor resistor for your 2006 Chrysler Town & Country. Haynes Part No. 30013

With reference to your inquiry on the BWD Blower Motor Resistor - Part No. RU1055 there are several symptoms that appear when the resistor of the blower motor is going bad. Recognizing these symptoms and replacing the resistor returns the airflow through the car to the proper levels. When the resister of the blower motor starts to fail, the motor operates only intermittently. This often presents itself as the blower fan not kicking on until the engine is producing a certain level of electric current. The higher current can make the jump across the resistor contacts that are going bad and get the blower motor to engage. The blower motor could stop working again on longer road trips when the car is at a cruising speed and the electrical current of the motor drops again. The lower settings of the blower motor require less electrical current to engage. But when the resistor of the blower motor is failing, it creates a larger gap between the connectors. This gap may be too far for the electric current to travel across. When this happens, the lower settings of the blower motor aren't able to function. The top setting of the blower motor may still be operational. Reduced airflow is when the blower motor is trying to move air through the vents but the resistor isn't sending enough power to move the air with much pressure. The blower motor resistor is receiving power but not the full force. Reduced air movement can occur at all of the different speed settings of the motor blower. Depending on how much resistor is still functioning, the reduced airflow could be an intermittent problem. Like other customers, just high speed works on my 2001 Chrysler T+C a/c and heater blower. I just bought part RU1055 to have my husband install this weekend. However, I am wondering if I should have purchased part 973-022 as that says it is a blower SPEED resistor.
                                    Thank you.

Sorry for the confusion caused. Both BWD Blower Motor Resistor - part# RU1055 and Dorman - TECHoice Blower Motor Speed Resistor - part# 973-022 are blower motor resistors and is an exact fit for your 2001 Chrysler Town & Country. The only difference is with diffrent manufacturers. ( BWD and Dorman).

After replacing the new blower motor resistor, for the first few minutes of operation, you will notice a slight burning odor coming from the vents. This is normal and is caused by the burning off of anti-corrosive chemicals of the resistor coils.
