      • Q:

Is this the correct ccrm (12) for a 1996 mustang gt conv. Automatic? Gauge indicates close to overheating before high speed fan turns on. I'm thinking the fan low speed relay may be shot. Thermo replaced and working ( top hose gets hot). aC clutch will not turn on either. However the radiator fan does turn on defrost mode along with AC clutch kicking in and out.

I'm glad to assist, B! This BWD Relay Control Module - Part No. RCM12M should be the correct number for a 1996 V8 Mustang. As far as checking/diagnosing operation, please see the vehicle's service information.

      • Q:

Hello. I have a 2000 Mustang GT (V-8), where the A/C clutch won't turn on. I've been told I need to replace the AC control module (by a chain repair shop, their description). I've also heard it called the CCRM. But I cannot find this CCRM or any module part in my owner's manual to find the required specifications. Will this part fit and work with my 2000 Mustang GT to get the AC clutch working again? Thank you.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Yes, Cat! This BWD Relay Control Module - Part No. RCM12M is listed for your 2000 Mustang GT. We list it under Relay Control Module. Ford often refers to it as CCRM- Constant Control Relay Module. While this is a possibility, you should always do the troubleshooting before replacing a part.

I'm glad to help you, DOC! Based on the OE number, it would be BWD Ignition Relay - Part No. RCM12M.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

I'm happy to help, Doc! This BWD "Ignition Control Module" (Part No. RCM12M) is a relay control module. The proper replacement for the relay control module on your 1994 Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 with the manual transmission is BWD Relay Control Module (Part No. RCM13M). If you are looking for a PCM or Powertrain Control Module, you will need a different part. You can find details about product fitment under the Product Application(s) heading in the Description tab when the vehicle information is entered into the website.

The possible PCM options based on the information you have provided so far are: Cardone Remanufactured Engine Control Computer (Part No. 78-5918 or 78-5922) or BWD Engine Control Module (Part No. ECC354).

what would cause the key to not program is their a moduel or transcever to the transponder key. or just what part is it that the transponder key send signal to an get its signal to the pcm.
Asked on 2/22/2014 by b from VA

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Hi B! Transponder keys are specially designed to provide a higher level of security by placing a signal emitting circuit inside the key. This circuit is activated when it receives a signal from the computer in your vehicle, which is known as the ECU, or electronic control unit. Communication between these two components is required to start the vehicle, and will result in failure to start if they are improperly configured/programmed. This technology greatly increases the security of your vehicle's ignition, as it cannot be started by any other means. Replacing a transponder key for your vehicle is not as simple as getting a new key cut to match your ignition. This process should be performed by a trained professional in order to ensure the key will function properly and start your vehicle.
