You can check on [...] for reviews, all negative, as for many Blitz products. The spout has to stay on, so you always have the nozzle in your way thus it turns. Of course, gas will spill out of it.It has to be stored upright as the cap always leaks. I even took it apart and sealed it, did not help. When fueling, you have to first move a little lever and then push down on the black handle. As soon as you tilt the can, gas spills out from the assembly.I give mine away for free, just contact me.

Garbage

By John

from Nashville

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

This is by far the worst gas can I have ever owned, or used. The nozzle is so poorly designed that is is worse than useless. I ended up removing it and in the process of dispensing gas without the nozzle, ended up spilling several ounces of gas all over. I would return it , except I threw away the receipt and it is hardly in 'like new ' condition after having had gas in it. Side note: I am not opposed to reducing the emission of unburned hydrocarbons, but I am opposed to trying to do it in an idiotic fashion!

Gas everywhere except where you want it

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

I bought this because my old 25 year old steel gas can leaks a little around the cap. This new one leaks much worse around the cap and you have to keep your hand on the leaky part to hold the valve open!! And since there is no vent, gas comes out of the spout very slowly while it leaks all over your hand!! I'm taking it back and I'll just make a gasket for my old gas can. At least it has a vent!! Federal government mandates that no vents are allowed but I put more gas into the atmosphere with this new can in 15 minutes of spillage than my old can put in the air in 25 years!!!

the EPA style spout is a pain in the rear but that's the new norm. it is a little lighter plastic than I was expecting. after swapping one out because of a leak in the bottom it will serve it's purpose.

this is a horrible gas can--spout doesnt work--gas pours out around the cap!!! I just want a plain screw off cap with a vent on the opposite side--and cant find one--do not buy one of these---you have to pump it or something---to get it to come out---but mine came out around the lid--and im wearing gas on my clothes and shoes--and it went all over my bike!!!!!

This gas can is overpriced and leaks, even with the spout notches all locked. The spout lock is by far the worst feature. It only makes it incredibly difficult to pour; it offers no benefit what so ever. I would never recommend this, or buy another one.

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

The first use was a disaster. I filled container up with gas and when I went to pour it out gas went everywhere. It came out where you screw the spout on to the gas can. There was a lot of excess plastic around the neck that wouldn't make a sealed connection when the spout was screwed on. I trimmed it off with a razor knife and then it sealed OK.

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

I have read negative reviews of the gas can. The part that is bad is you get 1 pour, then you need to reset the plastic neck, you must sit the can down to reset the neck. It is a pain in the backside. When I saw Briggs and Stratton I expected better.
