You can check on [...] for reviews, all negative, as for many Blitz products. The spout has to stay on, so you always have the nozzle in your way thus it turns. Of course, gas will spill out of it.It has to be stored upright as the cap always leaks. I even took it apart and sealed it, did not help. When fueling, you have to first move a little lever and then push down on the black handle. As soon as you tilt the can, gas spills out from the assembly.I give mine away for free, just contact me.

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

Plastic spout mechanism is supposed to prevent fumes from exiting while in storage and fueling. Flimsy and fell apart two times within first 3 uses. Now it leaks out of the spout joint. Total junk.

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

This gas can is great in that it's the best option available on the market, since all gas cans must have the EPA compliant nozzles. I searched many stores, comparing models, and this was the best.
Note: doing anything mentioned here will void any warranty, and is advised against doing so. I modified the green twisty part (cut off part of it) so that it doesn't have to be turned/unlocked to pour. Simply push nozzle to open gate within nozzle, and pour. I also added a vent cap (from a popular auction website) that allows smooth flow and ease of use. Only took a few minutes to modify it to become easy to use. I use it with my mowers/lawn equipment/generators. I've since purchased additional units for various uses (two cycle). With a few minutes of your time, you can easily make this a can you'll be happy with.

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

This is the worst gas can I have owned in over 50 years ! Awful to use especially in small tanks since it will spill out all over the tank and unit because of gas gushing out. While dispensing gas it leaks out the cap all over your hands. Hard to stabilize because you need to push down on the nozzle with the weight of the can to use. Only way to use this is the old way. Take everything off and use a funnel. Poor design and you will not like this at all! Terrible experience !!

              Garbage

              By

              from Nashville

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

This is by far the worst gas can I have ever owned, or used. The nozzle is so poorly designed that is is worse than useless. I ended up removing it and in the process of dispensing gas without the nozzle, ended up spilling several ounces of gas all over. I would return it , except I threw away the receipt and it is hardly in 'like new ' condition after having had gas in it. Side note: I am not opposed to reducing the emission of unburned hydrocarbons, but I am opposed to trying to do it in an idiotic fashion!

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

I bought this because my old 25 year old steel gas can leaks a little around the cap. This new one leaks much worse around the cap and you have to keep your hand on the leaky part to hold the valve open!! And since there is no vent, gas comes out of the spout very slowly while it leaks all over your hand!! I'm taking it back and I'll just make a gasket for my old gas can. At least it has a vent!! Federal government mandates that no vents are allowed but I put more gas into the atmosphere with this new can in 15 minutes of spillage than my old can put in the air in 25 years!!!
