You can check on [...] for reviews, all negative, as for many Blitz products. The spout has to stay on, so you always have the nozzle in your way thus it turns. Of course, gas will spill out of it.It has to be stored upright as the cap always leaks. I even took it apart and sealed it, did not help. When fueling, you have to first move a little lever and then push down on the black handle. As soon as you tilt the can, gas spills out from the assembly.I give mine away for free, just contact me.

Works great -- once you know how!

Best Uses

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

I just loaned my can to someone who had run out of gas, and didn't think to show him how the spout works. Came back and he had broken the spout. I have learned to keep the spout in place, tilt the can into the lawn mower gas tank opening setting it on the built-in hook, then gently pull back on the handle to control the flow into the tank. Easy! Will buy this item again.

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

Often found myself running out of gas for the lawn mower back when I was using my 2-gallon can. This one lets me fill up both mowers and still have a little left over in reserve. So it fits my needs perfectly.

Sturdily built, heavy plastic, and the vent is so much better than my previous can. Like that it has a ledge to rest on while pouring fuel, which also triggers the vent. Once you lift the can back up, the vent automatically closes and you're ready to take out the nozzle with zero spill or mess.

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

It took me and my father a couple of minutes to figure out that you have to catch the hook on the spout onto something so the whole nozzle will then depress and retract into the can in order for the gas to come out.
Even after we figured that out, we still had problems because there's an outer locking ring outside the nozzle that we couldn't get to rotate easily. Most importantly, after we got all those other problems worked out, the can still leaked. I got more gas into the water the boat was floating on than into the boat's gas tank. Might be okay for a lawn mower.

Plastic spout mechanism is supposed to prevent fumes from exiting while in storage and fueling. Flimsy and fell apart two times within first 3 uses. Now it leaks out of the spout joint. Total junk.

Comments about Briggs & Stratton 5-Gallon Gas Can:

This gas can is great in that it's the best option available on the market, since all gas cans must have the EPA compliant nozzles. I searched many stores, comparing models, and this was the best.
Note: doing anything mentioned here will void any warranty, and is advised against doing so. I modified the green twisty part (cut off part of it) so that it doesn't have to be turned/unlocked to pour. Simply push nozzle to open gate within nozzle, and pour. I also added a vent cap (from a popular auction website) that allows smooth flow and ease of use. Only took a few minutes to modify it to become easy to use. I use it with my mowers/lawn equipment/generators. I've since purchased additional units for various uses (two cycle). With a few minutes of your time, you can easily make this a can you'll be happy with.
