  • Q:

Typically left/right applies as you sit in the vehicle, however left cylinder bank usually applies to that which you see as you stand in front of the car. My 2004 error code is 153 for an upstream oxygen sensor right cylinder bank on a 2004 Dakota 3.7L.
The part # suggested is 15504. Are we on the driver's or passenger's side?

    • A:

This item (15504) is an upstream sensor.
Upstream sensors operate first, detecting air before injection.
Downstream sensors operate after the catalytic converter, detecting if the engine is running lean or rich.

This is also a heated sensor.
