Comments about Bosch OE Fine Wire Iridium Spark Plug:

I replaced my old ones in my 06 jeep. It has more power and deffenitaly runs a lot better. You don't have to gap the plugs which isn't a big deal but it was still nice. There ready to go.

Comments about Bosch OE Fine Wire Iridium Spark Plug:

I know most SRT4 motors use NGK but they are not sold here so I went with this plug. After having now a while I do like them a lot and have noticed more power. Its not the plugs fought that plugs are more trouble to replace but if you are going to do the job I replace my coil too with MSD and wires. This also would be a good time to replace hoses and thermostat and redo the valve cover gaskets, check your pcv. I would not worry about intake manifold gasket as mine where fine, but you should take off the throttle cables take only a little more time and also take off throttle body this way you car clean it. You can get the off brand air filet like K&N I have it works great. IF you do this your motor will be running for many years to come. Good Luck.

Comments about Bosch OE Fine Wire Iridium Spark Plug:

I suggest that you use your good common sense when installing these plugs. My Dad was the Line Chief for an USAF Fighter Squadron - you could say he was a competent mechanic. He always warned me about letting objects fall into the cylinder when changing plugs; Do them one-at-a-time to avoid risk exposure. On top of that, Mopar put two nice funnels, pointed upwards instead of sideways, on each of the Hemi's cylinders. I allowed one of the screws holding the individual cylinder's spark coils (which I didn't need to take them all the way!) slip out of my fingers.

I didn't see it go into the funnel, but there was the opportunity. And I didn't hear it land. I was working on sand. After hours of sifting thru sand, trying to find the screw in all of the nooks and crannies of the tight-fitting 5.7 L engine and compartment, and using a very handy telescoping magnet to check inside the cylinders, I gave up on finding the lost screw.

      Useful Tips:
      Listen to your Dad!
Use a paper towel or the like to immediately plug the funnel after removing the plug.
Don't do anything else until you replace the plug - don't get distracted!
Don't take unnecessary steps - you can apply anti-seize on the screws without taking them out.

After disabling all of the other coils, have someone with good hearing stand as close as possible to the cylinder while you BUMP the starter. USE EXTREME CAUTION WHILE DOING THIS! If the foreign object stops the piston's normal travel, it could cause substantial damage to the piston, it's connecting rod, valve stems - really ugly stuff.

The starter torque is significantly increased by the flywheel ring gear; the piston is also at it's greatest force in the compression cycle geometry. If you are very lucky (which I tend not to be), the foreign object will bend - but don't count on that. The use of a bore scope would be the best choice - second choice would be the magnet. But a bit of common sense is the best tool in a good mechanic's toolbox.

      As for the plugs:
The original plugs were changed at almost exactly 100K miles. The original .044" gap had become a .080" gap on the copper electrodes - any type of change would significantly improve a 5.7 L Hemi's performance. But these plugs will NEVER be changed again, unless you go thru a major head or engine rebuild. That, by itself, is worth every penny of the premium price paid for these super performers.

      they work

Comments about Bosch OE Fine Wire Iridium Spark Plug:

I installed these plugs in my dodge ramp 5.7Hemi pickup.

Some people had said to use only Autolite plugs, but I had already ordered them. They seem to work perfectly well. I have gotten the fuel efficiency back up to where it belongs now that the old plugs are replaced.

No complaints about the plugs, but man, Dodge could have made the access to the plugs a lot easier.

How is it that you claim to accept "Bill Me Later" as a form of payment, but then PayPal debits your payment from my checking account? When I asked PayPal why they did this, they said some of their clients don't accept an extended payment.

One of you is failing to tell the whole truth, and I will find out which which one. The honeymoon may well be over, for one or both of ya'll.

        • Q:

There is a mistake in the quantity needed for a changeout on a Mopar 5.7 L Hemi (Dodge Magnum R/T AWD). It takes SIXTEEN (16 - 2/cylinder) of these little $7 beauties to completely replace all of the spark plugs on the hairy beast.

But a good selling point would be that you'll not be likely to replace these plugs for at least another 100K miles. I'm pretty sure I'll keep mine beyond that, but most won't keep a car that long.

I intend to restore mine to a showroom near condition. It was among the first few cars that Daimler had a hand in its design efforts - in fact, my Magnum R/T AWD is more like a Mercedes-Benz than a Chrysler product.

          Best regards.....
