Comments about Bosch Fuel Pump Module Assembly with Sending Unit:

New fuel pump worked great! I did not want to get a cheap one, settled for the Bosch and got it on sale with internet purchase and in-store pickup. Lifetime warranty!!

Read several other comments on best way to approach fuel pump change for my truck. Settled on taking the bed (Short bed) off and it worked great!! Simple access, quick to change, and then back on with the bed. Neighbors contributed and I still owe a couple of beers. However, don't ask about changing the fuel filter with badly corroded and locked-up tube fittings - took longer than the fuel pump change!!

New fuel pump was a good direct fit. First flip of the key switch - clean start!! Has been ever since.

Comments about Bosch Fuel Pump Module Assembly with Sending Unit:

Installed in my 1998 Chevy C1500, 5.0L V8, which I bought used. Seems to run smoother/ better than it ever did w/ the previous pump.

The only drawback is that it appears that the float/fuel gauge indication may not be linear??? But, I have not run a full tank through it yet....

Comments about Bosch Fuel Pump Module Assembly with Sending Unit:

Used other brand fuel pumps before and ended up replacing most of them. THe Bosch pump has been the only pump that I have never had to replace and seems to last the life of the vehicle. It is now the only pump that I will put in my vehicles and the one I recommend when replacing for others. I have had 2 installations that the fuel indicators on the Bosch have incorrect readings. When indicator reads 1/4 tank or more, the tank is empty and you are sitting in traffic with no gas. So be sure to check this if replacing pump.Otherwise, the quality of the pump itself, is exception in longlife performance.

Comments about Bosch Fuel Pump Module Assembly with Sending Unit:

No one likes changing an in tank fuel pump, so you want one that is going to last. I had to replace the pump on my 98 Chevy twice because I bought a cheap pump the 1st time. Don't waste your time and money on a cheap fuel pump. This Bosch pump is much better than the OE. Neither the original pump, nor the 1st replacement were as quiet as this Bosch. I also learned a new trick to changing these out: Take the bed off the truck, it beats taking the tank off, especially if the tank is full.

The pump is a perfect replacement for the OEM pump. I ran 90,000 miles on it before it failed. Brought it back to the store and they replaced it free of charge.

Comments about Bosch Fuel Pump Module Assembly with Sending Unit:

I'm a mechanic by profession so i hate to work on my own vehicle. i purchase the bosh fuel pump because of the lifetime warrenty and it was not much more than many of the others that only came with a year warrenty. I have talked with several of my co workers and they have said the same thing "by a bargin fuel pump and be ready to replace it in a year or so". bosh is a well known name brand. the pump seems to be made as good as the original AC Delco that finally went out after 147,000 miles. replace the fuel filter and the "known to be problematic" fuel pump connector harness on the fuel pump while you are doing the job.

No, I am sorry. The Bosch Fuel Pump Module Assembly with Sending Unit (Part No. 67381) is not an ideal part for a 1/2 Ton GMC with 5.7L engine / 350 Cid V8. Instead please check the Bosch Fuel Pump Module Assembly with Sending Unit (Part No. 67382) which would be an ideal part for a 5.7L engine / 350 Cid V8 1/2 Ton truck. 98 k1500 5.7l engine fuel pump module. the one i removed has a square 4 prong/wire receptable and a flat/elliptical 3 prong/wire receptable. picked one up at gm dealer theirs did not have the same receptable as mine it had 2 adapters that required cutting and splicing wires. i returned it, i do not intend to rewire the fuel delivery circuit. my question does the bosch 67381 have the square 4 prong and flat 3 prong that i can just plug in and go?

          • Q:

I have a 98 GMC K1500 ext cab short bed 4x4 with a 5.7L. The reviews have said that the fuel gauge may not work. Will it work with my truck? Will the screen attached to mine work or do I need to purchase one seperate? Why are there so many problems with this model of sending unit/pump? Mine pumps fuel, have to key it up twice after sitting, and the fuel gauge does not read accurate at all. Just flickers back and forth. Sometimes empty sometimes full, and always twitching.
