Comments about Bosch Electrical Fuel Pump Kit:

When my 2000 Saab 9-5 with 140k miles fuel pump died during a cross country road trip, I was lucky to be right outside of Nashville just a few mins from an Advance store. This was in stock and a whole bunch cheaper than the whole drop in assembly that most people use. It was the exact same pump and part number as the original that died on me, so it looks like I should be good to go for another 100k+ miles! The only additional part you need is a small hose clamp to keep the old fuel line hose on the output barb of the pump.

Comments about Bosch Electrical Fuel Pump Kit:

Ok folks. You can buy cheap (I did) and replace the pump in 1 year. Or invest in the best (eventually I did) and never have to worry about a stranded car due to a dead fuel pump. I replaced the original pump in my Saab 9000 with the cheapest and then a year later it failed in a bad spot. So now I have a highest quality Bosch/Walbro pump and I now feel much more confident I'll never have to replace my fuel pump ever again! Just spend the extra few dollars now so you don't have to spend a lot later on a tow truck!

Comments about Bosch Electrical Fuel Pump Kit:

This pump does not produce enough pressure at the rail and I tried two of them to find I have to go with another pump. It gives you 10lbs and I need 43lbs. How does two pump get the same amount of fuel and fail to provide enough. This pump is simply not the pump for the application.

Comments about Bosch Electrical Fuel Pump Kit:

Exact replacement for my 1999 Saab 9-3, which should be just fine for about any last generation Saab 900 or early 9-3 model. The original Saab fuel line between the pump and the fuel system uses a hard plastic line that is heat shrunk onto the old pump and a T-fitting. This must be cut off and replaced when fitting a new pump. Submersible fuel line must be used to replace the original plastic fuel line and this is NOT included with the pump, nor does Advance appear to sell this type of fuel line, so plan ahead - I bought about a foot and trimmed it to fit. The fuel line size for this pump is 1/4 inch. After install, the car started right up on the first turn of the key!

Comments about Bosch Electrical Fuel Pump Kit:

Fuel pump assmebly for my Saab cost between $450 & $750 so I tried replacing just the pump for[$]. Everything went as planned but it took a little longer installing the pump in the fuel pump assemble. After all is said and done it was worth the extra work.Bob

will this fuel pump work in a 40hp mercury outboard motor. the appearance is very similar, and the psi has to be between 43 and 44 psi. The original is a Walbro pump but the numbers on it do not match anything i could find.

              A:

With reference to your inquiry on low pressure at fuel rail (Bosch Electrical Fuel Pump Kit - Part No. 69424), the Suction control valves on the back of the fuel pump might have caused the problem. Please remove this part and clean it (can use a brake cleaner) and you may use an airline to blow them clean. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
