Comments about BlueDevil Rear Main Sealer:

Had an awful leak in my '86 F150, 4.9 Six Cyl. Didn't know if it was the rear main seal or just a bad oil leak. Had oil all over the bottom of the engine all way back to the heavy duty 4 sp. trans., soaked with oil. Every time turned engine off, puddles of oil on driveway. Was going through a quart of oil every 10 days. Put in a bottle of Blue Devil Rear Main Sealer and a bottle of Blue Devil Oil Stop Leak. Followed directions on bottle and it took 4 days, but thrilled to say NO Leaks Anywhere now! Tried Barrs Rear Main Sealer, but didn't do anything. Blue Devil did the trick for me. Both bottles were a little expensive, but worth it.

Pour it in your oil. I drove my truck for 75 miles after I put it in and had only one drip. The next day I drove about 30 miles and my leak has completely stopped....

I had very small leak, I put this thing in engine, next day morning, Oil pressure light on, and leaking more oil. after 3 days miss fire in in cylender 3, due to huge leak. difficult to drive, no power, grambling the engine and noise. Immediately I went to the Advance auto parts brought the Lucas stop oil leak, in a 25 miles of continous driving, no oil pressure light and no ping noise and no missfire code. So dont use Blue devil rear main sealer, it will ruin your engine.

I have a 1997 Nissan Maxima GXE with 214,000 miles. Within the past year, it has developed oil leaks in three locations -- oil pan, pressure switch, and rear main seal. I had the pressure switch replaced because it was quick and inexpensive. The other two leaks, not so much. The leak from the rear main seal was pretty bad. The Blue Devil additive completely stopped the oil pan leak and reduced the rear main seal leak to a very slow drip. I would definitely recommend this product. I am going to add it to another older vehicle I own as a preventative measure before leaks begin.

Rear main seal on my 96 4-runner has had minor leak for a couple years but that changed for the worse this week
I started to find Oil traces in driveway so checked oil level finding 1 Quart low.
My temp fix was Blue Devil Rear Main Sealer additive.
The Product worked as advertised Leak is no more.
I will be making true fix when funds become available in future

I had a rear main seal leak on a 93 Honda Accord estimated to cost $840 in repairs. I purchased
a bottle of BlueDevil rear main sealer a bottle of transmission sealer by BlueDevil by mistake. I added the real main sealer and ran the car for a few hours on idol. The next day I added the transmission sealer and ran the car for 2 more hours. Started the motor on the third day and the leak stopped completely with in a half an hour. All I had to do extra was collect the dripping oil in a jar and pour it back in the engine to avoid loosing the product and oil (it was a bad leak)... problem solved, no more leak. The instructions say to drive the car for up to 200 miles, but I used only 1/3 tank of gas running idol in the drive way.

Comments about BlueDevil Rear Main Sealer:

I have a 1989 Ford F-150 with a straight six engine. It has an estimated 460,000+ miles on it. We can't be sure because the odometer status on the title reads "exempt", but I have witnessed nearly 200,000 miles go on it since first purchased in 2006. With that said, and despite the fact that it runs EXTREMELY smooth, it has understandably sprung a couple leaks here and there, including what I THINK is a rear main leak. It is either that or the oil pan gasket, as there are no oil leaks above the pan. I saw this product on the shelf, noticed that it was the most expensive of any other brand (I've always heard that "you get what you pay for"), and decided that compared to actually having the work done right on the engine and paying a fortune, this would be worth the price. I actually bought two bottles based on that idea. The only direction is to pour it into the engine. It says it will seal as you drive, about a couple days. I poured both bottles in at once almost four months ago, driving a lot as I use my truck for work, but the leak has not changed.
I give this product two stars because it is very easy to use- no oil change required or anything, and because I'm not 100% sure I have a rear main leak. Also I haven't attempted to get my money back yet, although I still have both empty bottles and the receipt, but hopefully they will refund me for at least one. After all, it was MY decision to buy two bottles. I am now looking at the other product for engine oil leaks manufactured by this same company, which seems to have more detailed instructions on it, and also received MANY great reviews. I wonder if maybe this product would have worked better if applied better perhaps, instead of just pouring it in and leaving it. I think overall it is probably worth trying out no matter what because again compared to the cost of actually fixing the problem correctly this is nothing. With the guarantee you SHOULD not lose any money and with the easy application you WILL not lose any time.

This Blue Devil Rear Main Sealer Part number 00234 permanently seals rear main leaks. Just add to the engine oil to restore and seal gaskets. Blue Devil is a great repair for timing cover leaks and it will not affect the oil pump.
