one of the best retail chemicals to break a rust bond. Repeated applications and leaving over time lets it work better. The fumes are strong and the can does not spray well upside down in tight spaces. To spray upside down, spray right side up just beforehand.

Not that good

Was dissapointed with this product. Even after several applications and waiting periods, did very little to loosen up stuck screws/bolts.

Pros

  • Decent price
  • Works great

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Pretty much anything that needs it

    Comments about Blaster Penetrating Catalyst:

I can practically remember the first time I heard about PB Blaster and when I used it. The surprise I had in how well it works had me hooked and of course the distinct smell lets you know you're using the good stuff. There are so many times when I see someone using a different brand with not much luck and I ask them if they've ever used PB and they tell me no, or I've never heard of it...

    Pros

    • Gets in there deep to loosen it up.
    • Gives you that manly smell that she will love.

    Cons

    • I still need the straw for applying small doses.
    • Super slippery.

    Best Uses

      Comments about Blaster Penetrating Catalyst:

I only use PB, but they have started to not included a straw with their cans. I don't always need a stream that will spray across the room, especially when I am using it in small quantities. Seems like a way to cut cost and try to get over on customers by saying it has a needle pin point spray tip. With this being said, I just bought 6 cans because Advance had it on sale.

      Comments about Blaster Penetrating Catalyst:

I work on older cars in the North East where salt is used on the roads. This product is a must to have in the shop. Works great on rusted bolts and other parts as well. I just used it to loosen up a rusted in front wheel bearing assembly on an older Jeep. The trick is to apply it and let it soak in for a while then apply it again. Keep doing this until the part is freed up.

      Comments about Blaster Penetrating Catalyst:

To prevent from stripping bolt heads or snapping them off....use this first. Spray the parts, let it sit for a moment then try to loosen. My advice though, sometimes, you have to tighten stubborn nuts and bolts slightly just to get them moving...use wire brush for heavy rust.

The spray cap breaks off and you cannot use a cap off an old cap. Needs a design change

Since I found PB blaster twenty years ago I will not use anything else. I don't need to use anything else. Rust, corrosion, dirty battery cables, it does it all and more!

      Comments about Blaster Penetrating Catalyst:

I was introduced to PB Blaster when I started refurbishing vintage bicycles. Nothing I've used works better. Whenever I'm going to work on something that has the potential to be corroded, like the sway bar links on my SAAB, I hit it with PB Blaster every day for 3-4 days before I'm going to do the work. Always makes things easier. The only other product I'd like to try is Kroil. I hear many good things and there always seems to be a raging PB Blaster/Kroil debate going on somewhere. After this can of PB Blaster is done I'll probably try it but it's going to have to work like magic to knock off PB Blaster for me.
