    Comments about Beck/Arnley Thermostat:

The thermostat is a relatively easy part to replace, but because it requires disassembling a housing, and sometimes unlatching a radiator hose, people can find it daunting. The Beck/Arnley thermostat was extremely easy to install, replacing an old thermostat which had worn out its spring. The engine now maintains a constant temperature of between 90 and 100 C, or roughly 190-212 F, even when the heat gets up to 100F as it is right now in Washington. Air conditioning stays cool and no more overheating risk!

          A:

Yes, replacing a worn thermostat should give back heat as it controls the flow of coolant through the radiator and regulates heat dissipation. The thermostat allows the engine to reach its operating temperature as quickly as possible to reduce oil dilution, cylinder bore wear, fuel consumption, exhaust emissions and improve the efficiency of the heating system.
