Check Vehicle Fit

Used to sense the temperature of the engine at the computer to adjust the fuel mixture. When the computer senses that the engine is cold through the use of the sensor it will increase the on-time of the injector. This enriches the fuel mixture the same way as using the choke. It also uses the sensor to determine when to turn the engine cooling fans on and off. Helps restore the original engine temperature, proper engine idle and proper air fuel mixture.

Hi AllenD, glad to assist you! The engine coolant temperature sensor is located under the ignition coil, either in the side of the cylinder head or in the coolant manifold. To get more specific information on the location of this part I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, not only will it show the location and also explain how to install, but you'll find it handy for many more projects on your vehicle. The repair manual part number is 43050.
