Q:will this fit a 1960 ford f100??
A:Hi Paul, I'm happy to help you! This Beck/Arnley Ignition Coil Resistor - Part No. 178-8000 does not fit your 1960 Ford F-100 Pickup. However, we do offer the exact fit BWD Ignition Coil Resistor - Part No. RU13 for your vehicle online.
Q:Would this part going bad cause my truck not to fire??? If so where is it located?
A:Yes Birdshot, A faulty ignition coil resistor will cause an engine not to fire. If the resistor has failed, the engine will run with the key in the start position, then immediately die when the key is returned to the run position. If that describes your symptoms, the ballast resistor is the first place to look. Simply bypass the resistor temporarily with a jumper wire. If that solves the problem, replace the ballast resistor and you should be good to go. If it is not working, I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any other parts that may/may not solve the problem.
Q:what is the ohms rating on this resistor
A:This Beck/Arnley Ignition Coil Resistor - Part No. 178-8000 has the ohm rating : 1.3 to 1.7 ohms.
