Bars Leak Head Gasket Repair (20 oz.)
Bar’s Leaks Block Seal Head Gasket Repair is scientifically formulated to permanently seal coolant leaks that are the cause of most overheating problems. For most vehicles, this is the last chance before going to a junk yard or paying an expensive repair bill. This repair contains a blend of aramid and refractory fibers giving the strength of a bullet-proof vest and the heat resistance of fire-proof clothing. As these particles penetrate a crack or the blown head gasket area, they lock together and bond forming a hard permanent ceramic type seal. Your vehicle is a good candidate for this product if it can idle for 20 minutes without overheating or having to add coolant. Works effectively on cast iron or aluminum blocks & heads.

When i bought my expedition i noticed after about a month it started running hot, after determining that it was a blown head gasket i purchased a bottle of bars and added it to my coolant, very simple, It has been a year and many miles up and down the highway and it still have not run hot, I highly recommend Bars *****

I have a 1964 Morgan with a Ford Cortina GT engine. I am losing coolant into the lubrication system and have a chocolate milkshake inside the valve cover. The car runs fine, and no water or steam comes out the tail pipe. Will this product work for me? Do I have to flush the coolant (yellow) first?

As in the product instructions #1100 head gasket repair is not antifreeze compatibility so should be flushed of all coolant prior to using. It sounds like it is a head gasket if you are emitting white smoke from the exhaust. The best course of action would be to replace the head gaskets and machine the heads if that is indeed the cause. Hi Jay, tricky question! Try flushing and draining your radiator and add new coolant and check out what happens then if oil shows up again, you may need to replace radiator because the transmission coolant line runs to the bottom of the radiator so it might be a problem there. However, without the presence of the vehicle we could neither diagnose the problem nor provide you with a 100% answer. This needs a mechanic's expertise to determine. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Answered on 3/12/2014 by Vincent from AAP

Hi, my name is Nick, from North Chicago, IL and I am the owner of a 1996 Chevy Blazer (2 door) LS. I am having difficulties with the engine over-heating. Due to the leakage of anti-freeze, I believe the head gasket is blown. I've used this product before. Before using the product, I drained anti-freeze and old black oil from beneath the truck. It worked for quite sometime but I guess I was too impatient. It was an hr after I provided my vehicle with the product and I've driven my truck 20 miles. It was around this time of year when i noticed that anti-freeze was leaking again after using the product. I got stuck in some snow and had to activate my 4x4 (4 wheel drive). After using my 4x4 for at least 20 mins, I've began hearing (clicking and clackling) noises from the hood. It was the engine over-heating again. also, lack of anti-freeze Is it possible for me to use this product once again? Will there be any risks using it more than once? Hi Nick Bryant, glad to assist you! The recommended dosage of this leak head gasket repair is 1 to 1.9 gallon cooling capacity uses ½ bottle. 2 gallon to 6 gallon cooling capacity uses 1 bottle. Larger systems use 1 bottle for every 5 gallons of coolant capacity. All antifreeze must be removed from cooling system or clogging could occur. After using this product, flush entire cooling system with water before adding antifreeze.
