Has definitely slowed the leak around the valve cover gasket and the crank seal. I was losing about a quart a month. Also reduced the knocking in my engine at start up when cold...hardly knocks at all now. I'll be adding this every oil change from now on.

I was told I had a rear main engine seal leak and I saw this on the shelf and added it during my oil change and then did a MPG check after driving a couple thousand miles and found my MPG was down 4 MPG. That is huge! When I drained the oil it was such a high viscosity it had a fine line coming out for minutes at the end of the drain. I replaced with oil I used before this and my MPG is back to normal. The bottle says to use every oil change but I would suggest using high mileage oil instead of this.

Comments about Bars Leak Engine Oil Stop Leak (11 oz.):

This is a concentrated gasket and seal conditioner similar to what is contained in high mileage motor oils. It does what they say it will do in that it will seal up small gasket and oil seal weeping due to wear and hardening from age and high mileage- leaks that wouldn't necessarily be worth the expense to have a mechanic fix on an older vehicle. If used in the quantity as directed, it is not harmful to use in any engine and in most cases it will take care of the smaller oil leaks and prevent new ones. However this is not a fix-all miracle solution. It is not for leaks that are the caliber of the Exxon Valdez. If the leak is one where oil is seeping out heavily, the seal/gasket will need to be repaired by a mechanic.

I have a 2009 Impala LTZ 3.9 Liter. I was told by the dealer that I had a leak coming from the oil pan gasket which was true. I ran one bottle of this and it almost instantly increase my engine performance but there was barely any oil dripping. The Bars Power Steering fluid works just the same.

Comments about Bars Leak Engine Oil Stop Leak (11 oz.):

Definitely work a try if you have a leak. Seems to slow leaks down a good bit, maybe not completely, but worth trying before doing a more time-consuming and more expensive repair.

I used this bottle treatment for my Honda 2001 ( 180,000 miles). Mechanic told me, my car is leaking oil may be between from Engine and transmission ( Seals/Gaskets).
So I bought this bottle fill in when regular oil change . It is not stop leaking 100%, but I can see it is slow down then before .
            Check your oil often .

                        A:

That's a great question Jewles! If you are going to add the Stop Leak to your vehicle the main concern would be to make sure that you do not overfill your crankcase. This product works by reconditioning seals on your engine. Most mechanics will recommend changing the gasket or seal. It is recommended to add at an oil change, although 30 miles would not be too many. According to Bars 1 bottle will treat up to 5 quarts of oil capacity. If it's a small 4 cylinder engine they recommend 2 ounces per quart of oil capacity.

Bar’s Leaks revitalizes these seals and makes them soft and pliable again. For more application like, Larger Cooling System Leaks, Heater Core Leaks, Cracked Cylinder Heads, Block Leaks you would need a Bars Leak Liquid Copper™ Block Seal Intake and Radiator Stop Leak (18 oz.) with Part No. 1109.
