Comments about Autolite Revolution High Thread Spark Plug:
Ford updated removal procedure for the spark plugs are þo have the engine warm. The engine should not be HOT or COLD, from prolong sitting. The ideal way is to drive the car to the store and back. Wait until the engine is warm to the touch. This way is the best to NOT have plug breakage issues. Hope this helps. P.S. There is a special tool to remove the broken plug in the head.

Comments about Autolite Revolution High Thread Spark Plug:
This is the worst designed plug that Autolite and Ford has come up with. i have been working on vehicles, mostly Fords due to I am a FORD Man for 42 years. When attempting to remove the plugs for replacement the lower section broke off in the block. [...] The manual says to let the motor cool before removing. seems that 12 hrs of cooling wasn't enough. at [$] a piece, these plugs are a piece of junk.

Q:
Is this spark plug a one piece design or a two piece like the Factory Original Motorcraft Spark Plugs in my 2006 Ford Explorer 4.6L?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Happy to help you with your question Ricky! This sparkplug is a 1 piece design. One VERY important thing to note is that this spark plug is for the 24 valve SOHC V8 and is designed for the Ford Triton 3 Valve engine. This spark plug is considerably longer so be sure of your engine details, you can cause engine damage if you get the incorrect type of spark plug.Q:
Does it take a special socket to remove spark plugs on a 2006 F150 5.4 flex engine?2 answers

Stock plugs need a thin wall, deep 9/16 inch socket.Q:
how do you get the bottom half out of block please help2 answers
A:
Purchase the Lesle 65600 spark plug removal tool online from Amazon for $60-70. Best tool you willever purchase. Used it to remove two broken plugs. One still had the ceramic in it. Work exactly as advertised. Also, review the Ford TSB for removing the plugs. Warm engine, lots of penetrating oil, turn 1/8 to 1/4 turn and wait 15 minutes for oil to penetrate. Then back out slowly. Use the tool to remove the broken plugs. No excessive force required. Good luck.A:
Use a Lisle 65600 extracter tool designed specifically for this type engine and spark plug combination. It happens all the time. Ford has a Technical service bulletin out on it. Its not the plugs fault....its the Ford design.
