Ordered the plugs on line (got the best price I found). Drove to Advance Auto, and after I showed enough ID, picked up the parts. Out of habit, I checked the gap and found two of the plugs were gapped at .050 instead of the .043 reccomended. No problem regapping. Installed the plugs using some thread lube to ease installation and ensure easy replacement when the time comes. Reconnected the spark plug wires and the engine started immediately. After two weeks of use, I find the engine idles more smoothly and has better pick-up

None of the plugs were gapped to factory specs, regapped myself, in doing so marred the platinum finish. After installing I read online that only copper plugs are to be regapped.... my last Bosch platinum set lasted about 80 k miles and a few of those needed to be regapped so hopefully these autocrat do the same.

Comments about Autolite Platinum Spark Plug:

Engine speed, which is determined by the amount of pressure you put on the accelerator pedal. I installed them 3 days ago, Sunday, and they seen to continue to produce spark. Why am I writing a review on something I just bought 3 days ago?? Because I'm getting emails asking to write a review. Installed in an 2007 Honda Accord with 140k miles.

Comments about Autolite Platinum Spark Plug:

This is the exact fit for my 2001 Dodge Dakota 3.9 Liter V6. When I received the plugs, I took them out of the package and there is a metal washer that was in the package. I put the washer on the threaded side of the spark plug, with the big side of the washer going on the spark plug first.
They were all gapped at the correct specifications of (.040).
After I put the new plugs in, I started the truck up and it runs smooth. I drove it around the block and it runs great.

Comments about Autolite Platinum Spark Plug:

Ordered 9 of them (1 extra) specifically for my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 w/the gap @.040, turned out that 7 out of the 8 needed to be adjustement. They was set at .030 & lower. Easy to install, but make sure before leaving the shop, they are adjusted to fit your vehicle. It took atleast 3-5 minutes a piece to get them adjusted

When instaling new spark plugs, with the sealing ring not tapered seat. There is a washer included, with a small and large diameter side., does the larger diameter on the ring go towards the cylinder head or the plug?

what do they mean by the heat range of 4 compared to 12

                1 answer

                • CUSTOMER CARE

                  A:

The spark plug heat range has no relationship to the electrical energy transferred through the spark plug. The heat range of a spark plug is the range in which the plug works well thermally. The heat rating of each NGK spark plug is indicated by a number; lower numbers indicate a hotter type, higher numbers indicate a colder type.
