Comments about Autolite Iridium XP Spark Plug:

I started using Autolite spark plugs with I was drag racing a 67 Camaro. When I changed from the ACDELCO plugs to the Autolite plugs I picked up power and improved elapsed time. I also used the Autolite plugs in my wife's Bonneville and improved performance. It did not work as well in my 97 V8 Jeep.

Comments about Autolite Iridium XP Spark Plug:

Used as a replacement spark plug in C5 Corvette after 60k miles and four years on previous set. Haven't had any issues with starting, drivability, or fuel mileage. Engine fires up immediately, idles smoothly. Happy that they do not require gap check or adjustment; install as received.

Put these on my avalanche and the idling smoothed out. Seems to be running better paired with the MSD wires. No complaints here.

              • Q:

I purchased the iridium plugs and gapped them according to GM specs for my Sierra PU truck and the truck runs rough at low RPM now. I gapped them at .060 between the electrode and the tip of the wire end, is this too much?

.060 it correct. maybe you have something loose. check all of your connections. D you have any engine codes?

Answered on 9/19/2010 by michael from aap
                • A:

.060 was the original gap for these trucks when they used platinum AC DELCO plugs number 41-985 . However they were replaced by AC 41-110 and are gapped at .040 from factory. Also GM released a tech bulletin stating that the GAP has been reduced to .040 for all of those engines and to DISREGARD the sticker on the vehicle. Iridium plugs Should never be Gapped due to chance of damage to the electrode ans they come gapped from factory.
