I knew that when I put these in – THEY WORK! ALWAYS! Solid performance and stand up under extreme driving very well. The gap on the plugs where near perfect as I always check. The cost for durability and performance is very reasonable. Priced Right!
In my 40 years working on & playing with high performance engines, I have never experienced failure when I use Autolite Plugs. The engine I used these plugs on is a 2000 Dodge Durango 318. The car is well maintained, but the engine just starting running so rough and the idle was up and down, at one point, I was convinced that the fuel pump in the gas tank was going out or clogged. I did the quickest thing possible, pulled the old plugs thinking I would see electrodes worn or burned or maybe oil fouled. Not the case, those plugs I pulled out where the OEM's and they did not look bad to the eye but the engine knew better. I double checked the new plugs gaps (which as always extremely close) put all 8 in, reattached the plug wires all the while thinking that the engine will more than likely run as it did with the old ones.
I didn't change the Rotor or Distributor Cap yet, but I wanted to see what would happen if I started it up. The moment of truth (why I buys Autolites) as I put the keys in the ignition as turned the key switch…. Effortless start and the engine idle was smooth as new. These Plugs Work - Every-time!
Just to test this out I purchased 8 Bosch Platinum Fusion Spark Plugs to see if 4 electrodes could be even be that much better. It was horrible; I thought I had somehow destroyed the motor. I could not get them out fast enough. Do the job right the first time, use Autolite. A fancy name and more electrodes means nothing over a lifetime of success…. Do it right, do it smart – Autolite. Oh I still need the Dist Cap & Rotor and I better get those new wires too.
Thank you, Autolite – A name worthy of Trust!

Made for Dakota is in ?. Opened the first one up checked gap and it was >.50 when Dakota is .40. When you spend [$] per plug you would think it would be gapped & if not somewhat close. So I checked 7 others & all were .50 or >. Spent more time bending/adjusting to make .4 than it took to change. Then I always worry what damage I did to the plug trying to get it gapped right. It was 830 so too late to take back & truck was already appart, so I cont.. Well truck started & ran..That about all I can say.

Hi Arch, happy to help you! If you stand in front of your Honda Fit then it should be located on the driver side. For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes or Chilton repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

Happy to help you with your question LuvmySuzuki! This Autolite Spark Plug (Part No APP5224 is an acceptable alternative. The main difference between them will be the tip of the electrode. That is why you see different gaps settings. The Spark Plug in the manual (Part No F1000176290BOS) has a slightly different tip design than the one you want but is good as an alternative.

                  A:

Installation Instructions: 1. Adjust the gap on the replacement spark plugs. At the tip of the spark plug that enters the cylinder head is a small metal piece shaped like a hood. The tip of the hook hovers just above a metal circle on the bottom of the spark plug. These two metal pieces are called the electrodes. The distance between these pieces is referred to as a “gap.” The gap determines the length of the spark when the spark plug fires. Before the new plugs can be installed, the gap must be adjusted to .035-inch with a feeler gauge. Select the blade of the feeler gauge which represents .035-inch, then insert the blade between the two metal pieces. Bend the hook-shaped piece toward the plug until the proper gap is reached. 2. Remove the spark plug wire for any one spark plug. There is no particular order by which the plugs must be replaced. However, it is important to replace only one spark plug at a time to avoid crossing the spark plug wires. Grasp the rubber base of the spark plug wire, where the wire connects to the spark plug, then firmly pull the wire off of the plug. Do not pull the actual spark plug wire, as the wire may pull out of its rubber base. If the wire is stubborn, twist the base of the wire before pulling it off of the spark plug. 3. Remove the spark plug with either a 10 or 13 mm spark plug socket, depending on the engine, attached to a socket wrench by turning the spark plug in a counterclockwise direction. 4. Insert a replacement spark plug into the cylinder head, then twist the plug into the cylinder head by hand until it cannot be twisted further with reasonable effort. Tighten the spark plug into the cylinder head with the spark plug socket by 1/4 of a turn. Take care not to over tighten the plug, which may cause the it to break. 5. Press the rubber base of the spark plug wire onto the top of the replacement spark plug until the wire clicks into place. Follow the same procedure for the remaining spark plugs. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.
