First let me say up front that after reading the reviews,i was very skeptical about buying this tool. But I needed something to get the wiper arms off with.I bought the tool and let me tell you it worked great. My wiper arms have not been off for ten years,so they were stuck on good. What I found was you have to turn the plastic know slowly, wait a minute and turn it a little more(do not torque it) let the pressure of the tool do it's work. With the constant pressure it will turn loose on it's own.You will hear a pop or cracking sound and the wiper arm will be loose. It doe's not damage the arm in any way.But friend's just let the tool do it's job. Constant pressure is a wonderful thing Remember turn the knob a little at a time and it will work great.

The only useful part is the clamp, throw away stud with handle, the handle knob just turns in circles when appling torque, knob was stripe. Went to the hardware store bought a bolt with hex head and then tool worked correctly. Based on the design of the tool the person who design never worked on a vehicle let alone removed a wiper arm.

it worked for me

Comments about AutoCraft Windshield Wiper Arm Remover:

I read the poor reviews and wasn't sure if it would work for me. I needed a wiper arm puller to remove the water pump on a 2007 Saturn 2.4 engine. I replaced the plastic handle / screw with a 8 x 1.25 x 45mm long full thread bolt. I use a wrench to turn the bolt two times and heard a pop, I thought the tool broke, it was the wiper arm that broke free of the stud. The other wiper came off the same way with a pop.

Comments about AutoCraft Windshield Wiper Arm Remover:

Set screw kept trying to wander off the wiper arm shaft due to lack of precision craftsmanship. Tine bent, then broke off. Might work if your wiper arms are lightly stuck, but don't by this garbage if you live in a cold climate like Wisconsin. You'll need a real tool to get your wiper arms off if they routinely see snow/ice.

Not a good tool...

Very cheap tool... Stripped the plastic handle with my bare hand. Tool was useless after that. Why bother even making it if your not going to try to make a half decent tool. Don't buy!

Looked well enough designed but it turned out to be about 1/2" too short to fit a 2004 Ponitac Grand Prix. Dimension limits by AAParts would be nice.

There is a plastic knob used to tighten the bolt which pulls up on the wiper arm. This knob stripped out with finger pressure. Had it been a bolt head, you could use a wrench. Very dissappointed.

Comments about AutoCraft Windshield Wiper Arm Remover:

Took this tool at the advice of the counter guy. I get it, he was trying to be helpful. But, I really didn't look at the tool and blindly bought it. Shame on me! I got it home, and took it to my Dodge Caravan. I basically had to unscrew the screw to get it to fit. Then the forks barely fit the post. I tried for about twenty minutes but the thing laughed at me. And to top it off, the forks bent! What in the world! The knob was a beast to turn, and I wound up having to use a pair of vice grips and ground up the knob something fierce! Bottomline it was too small for my wipers. I would recommend you spend the extra 10 bucks for a larger gear puller or the the larger wiper arm puller.
