Q:will i have to remove the engine intake to use this lift plate on my 99 ford ranger with a 3.0 flex fuel engine?
A:The Autocraft Universal Engine Lift Plate (Part No. AC641) is universal and not an exact fit for your 1999 Ford Ranger. General Instructions: 1. Remove the carburetor or fuel injection system from the engine intake manifold with a correctly sized wrench. 2. Align the mounting holes of a lifting plate with the threaded holes of the intake manifold left open when you removed the carburetor or fuel injection system from the intake manifold. 3. Thread a bolt through each lifting plate mounting hole. Turn each bolt clockwise with a wrench to secure the lifting plate to the top of the engine. 4. Disconnect the engine from the vehicle. 5. Slide the hook of an engine hoist through the top lifting hook of the engine lift plate. 6. Pump the handle of the engine hoist to lift the engine from the vehicle. Lower the engine and move the engine hoist hook to another position on the lifting plate if you need to adjust the lifting angle of the engine.
