I used this for a old MTD Lawn Mower that had a very narrow battery slot. It worked really well. While selling it it was started maybe 70+ times and the last time it sounded as strong as when it was new!
It comes with the everything needed to fill it including the acid but you will need a slow charger that puts out no more than 2 amps.

Comments about AutoCraft Powersports Battery, 50-N18L-A2, 260 CCA:

The battery came without being filled with acid, it came with it. It has 2 bottles . You fill it to the upper line indicated on the battery. I charged it at 2 amps for 10 hours. Installed it in the bike and it worked perfectly. The fit was a little loose compared to the old battery, but it just required a piece of rubber against the bracket. But it works fine and for the price it is great.

Not installed yet, but happy with price and initial charge

Comments about AutoCraft Powersports Battery, 50-N18L-A2, 260 CCA:

Purchased and did the initial fillup and charge and it tested out at the top of the range (12.8)... I am installing the battery on my 1989 Yamaha Virago 1100 later today. Followed the initial set-up and charging instructions and the battery tested out at the right voltage. First time I am using this make of battery, so we shall see how it does after I install it.
Advance Auto does a great job with the "order online, pick up at store" service. And I always get at least 20% off when I order online, so that is the only way I purchase stuff there anymore.

Comments about AutoCraft Powersports Battery, 50-N18L-A2, 260 CCA:

I needed a new battery for my motorcycle. Advance Auto had just what I needed, on a Sunday afternoon when many other stores weren't open. I ordered the battery on line, picked it up while running errands. The entire in-store experience probably lasted three minutes. I appreciate speed and utility. The battery was easy to fill, charged quickly, and fit like a glove. My bike was back on the road later that day.

Comments about AutoCraft Powersports Battery, 50-N18L-A2, 260 CCA:

AutoCraft is one of only a few manufacturers that still provide a battery for my vintage '78 Honda GL1000 motorcycle. The battery I purchased was an exact fit; Old School design where you have to add the battery acid yourself. Perfect for do-it-yourselfers that prefer a classic design without the 'trash and buy a new one' philosophy that pervades today. Good for mechanics that like to make old stuff last. The only thing I wasn'tm too happy about was that I was told that if I bought the product on=line, I would get a discount. That didn't happen.

I bought one for my Honda Goldwing GL1100 in the Spring of 2013. It lasted until the fall of 2014. I've had batteries last a lot longer but they cost a lot more. I've paid more and had them last less. I always put a battery tender on when it's going to sit for a few weeks or over the Winter. It seems to be hit or miss on getting a good battery for motorcycles. For the price it's not too bad.

Hi Shu, glad to assist you! Not normally. Car batteries are already fully charged and it should be ready to install and crank it up. You can always check to see how long the battery has been sitting on the rack by looking at the date code on the side of the battery.

Re:50-N18L-A2 battery: Mine came with no instructions but I had filled the same model battery before. Although this battery has the same model number it is physically different from my prior 50-N18L-A2 battery. This battery has seven caps instead of the six of the prior battery. Six caps are on one row and the seventh cap is in the middle of the second row. Filling the six caps to the lower level seems to evenly distribute the acid. So when do use seventh cap? Is it for topping off or is it for maintenance?

CCA is the maximum amperes that can be continuously removed from a battery for 30 seconds at 0°F before its voltage drops to unusable levels. A 550 CCA battery can supply 550 amperes for 30 seconds at 0°F. This rating is only useful in the selection of engine starting batteries.
