This 16A-A Motorcraft battery will offer you years of service if properly maintained. When first installing, you must trickle-charge this battery for about 15 hours at 1 amp. This is the most important charge this battery will ever receive. Be sure to always keep electrolyte above lead plates. Add only distilled water when battery acid is below level. Keep battery fully charged when storing for long periods of time (be careful never to over-charge). Remember these are small batterys and can not take a 6 amp charge. Trickle charge at 1-2 amps until battery is fully charged. Lead acid batterys can be hazzardous because of their corrossive materials. Always follow Manufactures instructions and thses batterys will last for several years. I ride a '84 Honda Shadow (VT700) and I am on my 3rd year with my current battery. Hope this helps. Wayne B. Griffin, GA.

Since replacing my original motorcycle battery with this battery which lasted seven years, I have purchased three of these replacements in the last two years. Regardless of the care given that includes removing in Winter months and keeping on a trickle charge, this battery fails, typically with my charger reporting a fault or dead cell. I told the salesman at Advance auto that these batteries were low quality and other reviews indicated the same experience with other users. His advice was to write a review and if enough complaints were received that they would perhaps start selling a better battery. Some offer of credit would be nice but unfortunately it only has a 90 day warranty.

Comments about AutoCraft Powersports Battery, 16A-A, 150 CCA:

I did everything you are supposed to do to prolong battery life. A low amp trickle charge after filling it upon purchase. Maintained it off the bike with a smart charger. Kept an eye on the water level. Still I didn't even get a full year out of this one. Bought it right before July 4th of 2015 and I was getting ready for a ride in late June 2016 and it was basically a paperweight.

Battery only has 3 month warranty and no pro-rating. Mine died after 4 months! Store would do NOTHING for me! Go to Bat+, twice the battery, double the warranty for the same money!

Pay attention to the 90 day warranty. Mine failed in 114 days and Advance Auto said too bad and told me I needed to purchase another one of these worthless batteries to make it through the summer.

Hello there Mike. Happy to help with your question. The life of the battery will vary depending on its use. The biggest thing to remember is not to overcharge the battery. Overcharging is what generally kills most batteries of this type.

I have this battery in my 1998 Honda Aero VT-1100C3, which is a stock battery box replacement, this site says it won't fit. and wants to sale a AGM battery that are not close to these measurements, believe me I would rather a sealed AGM type VS this lead acid type...is there really one for my application?

Happy to help you with your question Larry! Unfortunately we do not carry an AGM battery that fits your application. If you found a battery that fits the dimensions you need go should be fine with it.
