Worked perfect on my 99 Jeep Cherokee. The rear suspension is notorious for being loose, especially after all these years. Bumps no longer cause the back to swing around. You may have to adjust your exhaust pipe or cut the u-bolts after installing. I'd recommend using large (4" to 6") clamps and attaching both u-bolts at the same time.

Easiest and cheapest solution until you want to replace the leaf springs. Also a good idea if you spend time towing a light trailer around and don't want to wear out your suspension.

Comments about AutoCraft Overleaf Help Spring 2.5":

Installed on FRONT 1/2 of rear spring.
Took 1 hour to do both sides by jack ing up rear of van under trailer hitch to remove pressure from factory springs.
Supported van with jack stands and could work through wheel well and underneath without removing tire
Van regained 2" of rear ride height and doesn't sag with trailer attached.
Ride MUCH improved unloaded.

Comments about AutoCraft Overleaf Help Spring 2.5":

I hauled firewood all last winter, several tons to crushed stone for a shed floor and 3 loads of sand last week. My 90 C1500 was ragging its behind, and these gave her new life.
The instructions claim a single mounted unit rear of the axle will only get you 1000 lbs. Not 1500 listed on other sites.
You will need a 6" clamp to pull the far end of the bar down once you have the first end clamped.
This is not a problem but dangerous if it slips.
    She rides great now! Thanks.

Comments about AutoCraft Overleaf Help Spring 2.5":

I was surprised to see that it works just as it says it does since I couldn't really figure out how it works. I carry a 300 gallon tank of water in the back of my 98 Chevy Silverado for pressure washing sidewalks where there is no water source. Before I added this, with a full tank of water, the truck would sag about 1 to 2 inches below level. Now, it's level with a full tank of water (2400 lbs for the water and another 600 lbs in equipment). The spring helper probably lifted my truck about 3/4" to 1" so its barely noticeable and still looks stock. The only tip I would give is to use an air wrench because with fine threads, it takes a while to tighten up the bolts. Very happy though and well worth the price! Highly recommended if you want to carry more weight.

Comments about AutoCraft Overleaf Help Spring 2.5":

Helper spring just a little to long, interferes with shock bolts. Unable to torque down to 70 foot lbs as recommended, due to bottom plate bending around the trucks leaf spring. The U bolts pulls the helper spring down to touch the truck leaf spring, the pictures don't show that so was a little confused.
After getting over these mechanical problems the truck rides better no more bouncing and handles great.
I'm surprised nobody else had these issues or didn't mention them.

I installed these overleaf helpers both on both the front and rear of the leaf springs of my 2002 Nissan Frontier 2wd XE. I installed these to help the suspension when towing an approximate 900lb trailer + cargo. They caused an immediate lift of 2 inches and greatly helped the sag when the trailer is attached and being towed. Installation is very simple. Overall, these were a very cost effective solution for my towing needs.

put these on the sagging rear end of my 79 jeep cj7 and it raised it up 1 1/2 inches, probably how much it was sagging. rides better and suspension does not bottom out so easily. short of replacing rear leaf springs for a lot more money this is as good as it gets. very pleased. took half an hour to install.

For added aupport you could add a set in frt of the axle .but not usually needed.

                A:

Hi Debo, glad to help you! Here is the installtion intructions for the leaf spring. Lift up the rear of the vehicle using the jack and secure it on jack stands. Make sure the frame and axle of the vehicle is solidly set on the jack stands before crawling underneath it. Remove the rear tires using the tire iron. Unbolt the u-bolts that connect the axle to the leaf spring using the 1/2-inch ratchet and socket. Locate the rear leaf spring hanger on the frame. It's located at the rear of the frame, by the rear bumper. Hanging off the hanger is a leaf spring shackle, which is bolted to the hanged on one end and the leaf spring at the other. Unbolt the spring shackle from the leaf spring using the 1/2-inch ratchet and socket and an open-end wrench. Unbolt the front leaf spring hanger from the frame using the 1/2-inch ratchet and socket and an open-end wrench. Lift the leaf spring away from the frame and axle. This is very heavy, so if you need help carrying it, get an assistant to help you out. Place the replacement leaf spring on the frame, sliding the front leaf spring bolt into the frame first, then the rear shackle to keep the suspension steady. If you need help positioning the leaf spring, use the help of an assistant. Bolt the front and rear leaf spring bolts to the vehicle using a 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and an open-end wrench. Then connect the axle u-bolts to the leaf spring using the 1/2-inch ratchet and socket. Reinstall the rear tires using the tire iron, then drop the vehicle off of the stands using the jack.
