Have had 2 in a mixed bank with West Marine batteries. These held up, the WM are dead. Even though the two are still good (going strong), they are 4 years old (longer than warranty), so just bought 8 batteries to build new bank twice the size of the original. Just stay on top with maintenance, and they're good. No complaints!

Seems ok so far

1 year warranty, so if it does not hold up, I will return it.

I bought 2 of these batteries to try on my 1 kw solar power bank and these batteries only lasted for 18 months and both developed a dead cell on the positive side port. One developed a dead cell on the first + cell and the other developed a dead cell in the second + cell. These batteries were monitored and charged with a mppt charger and never discharged less than 70%

Comments about Autocraft Marine / RV 12-Volt Deep Cycle Battery, Group Size 27, 600 CCA:

In 2011 I purchased two of these batteries for use in parallel as power for my home's back-up sump pump, as recommended by my pump's specs. Three years later I finally discovered that my back-up pump's inverter had stopped functioning because one of these two batteries was completely empty of electrolyte while the other one had stopped holding a charge. Yes, it's possible that the empty battery may've been mistakenly sold to me that way and that the two being connected in parallel as they were may've degraded the one full battery over time, I'll never know for sure. But in May 2014 I nevertheless decided to go ahead and replace both batteries with identical units (making SURE they were both serviced this time), completed the installation, and they appear to be functioning great at this point. So we'll see. I check them daily. Can't beat the price though.

The battery is not an optima battery, but it also does not have the price of an optima battery either. It is a great battery for the price. It is dependable and the 27 series can get pretty heavy. Other than the weight, which is expected for the 27 series, it is a great all around battery. I use this battery on my boat to run the outboard motor and all the electronics. It lasts all day and then some. I would recommend this battery to anyone looking to replace an old nonchargeable battery.

I'm glad to assist, Bob! If your boat currently utilizes two batteries, you may absolutely use two of these Autocraft Marine / RV 12-Volt Deep Cycle Batteries (Part No. 27DC-2) in the same configuration. For the longevity of your batteries and to ensure you have reliable power, replace both batteries at the same time.

Many thanks for the idea of limiting low voltage to 50% at 12.06V. Would that 12.06V be when at rest, or during active use? I notice it dips 1/4 to 1/3 of a volt when in use, then gains most of it back when at rest.

I'm happy to help, Need help! Typically, a new battery should not require additional water right away. Although, charging the battery could cause those levels to go down. When adding distilled water to this Autocraft Marine / RV 12-Volt Deep Cycle Battery (Part No. 27DC-2) make sure to fill above the top of the plates and below the bottom of the vent well or splash barrel. This battery should keep your sump pump system working for years to come.

I'm happy to help, Mitch! To retain maximum life on your Autocraft Marine / RV 12-Volt Deep Cycle Battery (Part No. 27DC-2), discharging to 50% will produce the best lifespan to cost benefit. These batteries are capable of handling up to an 80% discharge. A low voltage cutoff device could certainly help you to prevent premature failure of your battery. The voltage of a 50% discharged 12V lead-acid battery will be appoximately 12.06V and 11.58V when at an 80% dishcharge.

                        A:

I'm happy to help, Chazzo! This Autocraft Marine / RV 12-Volt Deep Cycle Battery (Part No. 27DC-2) should be charged with a 12 volt charger. An alternator on a vehicle will typically charge a battery between 13.8 volts and 14.4 volts. Even though a battery charger is listed as a 12 volt charger, it will provide enough voltage to properly charge a 12 volt battery. You will most likely want to charge this battery around 10 amps. This will provide a slow charge for this size battery and take approximately 6-7 hours to charge.

I suggest a microprocessor controlled automatic battery charger, such as Schumacher Automatic Microprocessor Ship 'N Shore Charger (Part No. SS-120A-PE) to provide the longest battery service life. A:

Hi Donald Simon, glad to assist you! This battery is designed to power all of your accessories on your boat or RV. It is developed to withstand the high electrical demands of trolling motors, fish finders, GPS systems, and radios. If the specifications of this battery is same as in your old battery then you can very well use this in your cart.

I'm glad to assist, Paul! Any time your battery is going to be stored for an extended period you should keep it on a maintainer such as Part No. SEM-1562A for a standalone or Part No. SE-1-12S for a mountable maintainer.
