Have had 2 in a mixed bank with West Marine batteries. These held up, the WM are dead. Even though the two are still good (going strong), they are 4 years old (longer than warranty), so just bought 8 batteries to build new bank twice the size of the original. Just stay on top with maintenance, and they're good. No complaints!

Seems ok so far

1 year warranty, so if it does not hold up, I will return it.

Comments about AutoCraft Marine / RV 12-Volt Deep Cycle Battery, Group Size 27, 600 CCA:

I've been abusing this battery for 3 years on my boat as a house battery. I ran a stereo that's somewhere in the neighborhood of 2800 watts. That's "actual" watts being pushed through it, not just what the amps say. Meaning - this battery is getting lit up every time the subs hit. Over the Fourth of July we were in a tie up of 10+ boats and ours was the DJ boat. For 5 hours this battery took a beating. No break. After 2 hours I expected it to die, but I have a separate start battery so I said "screw it, let's see what happens."

After 5 hours it still, although slowly, started the boat. Couldn't believe it. So - I came back this weekend and bought a second one to add to it in parallel.

Is this the best battery out there? Probably not. But for the price this thing is a tank.

Trying these batteries over interstate. Seems like these are made by same company. Longevity will be the real test. They seem a little lighter than the interstate. Hopefully, new technology allowed this.

Battery is great, larger capacity and more reserve than other group 27 batteries. Most batteries (automotive, marine, and RV) are made in one of a few factories and there is not much difference of the internals from one brand to another. this one has slightly higher capacity and reserve than others as well as is cheaper than others. It has the same 1 year warranty as competitors. The best part is you can use speedperks and other coupons to get an amazing price!

This item is claimed to have 115AH according to the responses by AutoZone of a number of questions posted. If I am correct, Part No: 29HM is supposed to have 105AH again according to AutoZone responses to customer questions. How can a smaller less expensive battery have a greater capacity?

                Please consider the following scenario:
I have an application which draws a max of 6.67AH at 12vDC. I'm looking for a deep cycle battery to get the maximum run time. Would either this item or Part No: 29HM be my best choice? If not, please advise the highest capacity deep cycle battery you carry. Thank you!

                1 answer

                • CUSTOMER CARE

                  A:

Good question, Dustin! Most deep cycle batteries that we have seen use a method called the "20 hour rate" to determine the amp hour capacity of batteries and this is one. Earlier, these batteries used the "1 hour amp rate" and this makes the amp hour rating appear higher than it actually is (unless you really only drain these at a rate of 1 amp per hour, which is a rare case). Since they are using a different methodology to determine the amp hour capacity, you cannot do a fair comparison with a different battery whose amp hour rating was determined using the usual 20-hour rate method. Using the 20 hour rate to determine the amp hour capacity of these batteries would likely result in an amp hour rating in the high 80s, and not 115 like the earlier responses say. This is due to something called the Peukert's Law.
