Easy to use connector, just push on and it locks in place. Great for tight spaces. You can change cans without having to disconnect it from the car. You can use it as just a gauge to check to see if you need to add refrigerant.Comes with a chart,so you can put the right amount in. I would have given it 5 stars had it been made in the USA.

Not for professional a/c shop use, would wear out to fast. For use on your own cars, it is made very well and should last several years. I do mechanic work out of my home and repair auto a/c systems all summer long and this will last me 6 or more years. I had a cheaper made one and used it 6 years before replacing with this one. This is intended to be used to top off an a/c system not completely charge one. I have used for both and it works great. Most cars hold 20 oz. of Freon give or take a couple oz.

Comments about AutoCraft Heavy-Duty R-134a Charging Hose with Extra-Long Hose and 90" Push-and-Lock Coupler:

The nice thing about this is that the hose is long enough to make it usable, the gauge, and the fact that the end pieces are metal. But, the built in check valve won't last long, and if the can is not properly attached, you will get leaks. That, and place where you screw the can into it, there is only 2 turns of threads, which really isn't enough, so it's easy to strip out. For comparison purposes, my Mastercool can tap has three whole threads and the cans screw into it much better due to more accurate threading. When I complained to Spectrum Brands about the poor quality of this item, they said that if I mailed it to them at my expense, they might send me a new one. Emphasis on might. This item might be good if you if only plan on using a a few times, but for what it costs I think you can do better.

Comments about AutoCraft Heavy-Duty R-134a Charging Hose with Extra-Long Hose and 90" Push-and-Lock Coupler:

used one time and loved it, great for tight places, good hose length, and all metal. Now the second time I went to use it the dang thing would not deliver anything. I had to totally disassemble it, clean it, blow it out, and reassemble and finally I got my customers car charged. went to charge a flip car last night, it put out for about 10 seconds and then wam all clogged up, even took my old brain a few minutes to remember, oh yea this thing clogs and this time I had to disassemble it twice to get it to work and I was not doing this again. I'm over it and it is going back along with 4 cans I had to stop on to clean it. Do not buy this for a small shop, get a real set of hoses with manifold and guages!!!!

Used two cans of R134a through this, then it stopped feeding into the system near the end of the second can. Bought it today, returning it tomorrow. Absolute waste of time.

Comments about AutoCraft Heavy-Duty R-134a Charging Hose with Extra-Long Hose and 90" Push-and-Lock Coupler:

First the good: The quality of the hose, fittings and gauge seem to be high. Everything worked smoothly and I have no complaints. I should be able to get years of casual use from this.

Now the bad: The table that is included in the directions could possibly force an overcharged system and A/C component damage. My garage was at 82 deg F and the table indicated a suction pressure of 40 - 50 psi. I only needed 36 psi to get the suction hose temperature equal to the saturated vapor temperature at 36 psi. That's the sweet spot to aim for. The vent outlet air temperature was 47 deg F with the fan on maximum. A test drive with the fan slowed down gave me 40 deg F air with a light heat load. That's almost frosty cold! It's set where it needs to be. If I had put in enough refrigerant to force 40 - 50 psi then my outlet temperature might start rising again and compression forces would unnecessarily increase and put a strain on components and fuel mileage.

My suggestion is to educate yourself a bit before attempting this if you don't know what you are doing. The actual process of connecting the hose and adding refrigerant is not difficult to do. You just have to go slow and know when to stop. Be sure to wear gloves because if you mess up you could frostbite your hands extremely quickly.

Comments about AutoCraft Heavy-Duty R-134a Charging Hose with Extra-Long Hose and 90" Push-and-Lock Coupler:

This unit is a "must have", if you attempt to add refrigerant to your vehicle A/C. "All-In-One" units that contain canned refrigerant, with an attached gauge/hose assembly, typically have major components manufactured of plastic, a short hose, and a gauge with questionable accuracy. The entire unit cannot be reused, once the refrigerant is emptied. Throw-away technology has never been a favored way to go for me, especially if you could possibly be using a device or tool multiple times, for future needs.

The charging hose allowed me to add R134 to my A/C system easily. I now can just purchase plain cans of refrigerant, I don't have to buy the ones with a hose and gauge built onto the can. I can use this hose/gauge on any vehicle I own. The product is well built and worked perfectly.
