Comments about AutoCraft Golf Cart 8-Volt Deep-Cycle Service Battery, 128AH:

I bought 6 of these batteries in Sept 2013 and installed them in my Club Car golf cart.
The batteries worked well and did their job BUT 2 of the batteries cases cracked and leaked out the acid from the cell where the crack occurred.
Advance Auto wasn't any help when it came to warranty saying they are only covered by a 12 month warranty.
The batteries still accept a charge and power the golf cart but as soon as you pour water into the dry cell compartment it runs right back out.

        • Q:

Do you offer a 12 volt Golf cart battery? I can only see 6 and 8 volts. Is there a battery that I can use with 12 volts?
Asked on 2/9/2015 by carl veil

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

I'm happy to help, Carl! Most golf carts will utilize a 6 or 8 volt system. If you have a 12 volt golf cart I suggest checking out one of our Autocraft 12-Volt Sealed AGM Premium Power Sport batteries. If you are able to provide us with the group size off of the current battery, we can help you interchange your battery with one that is carried at your local Advance Auto Parts store.

should golf carts be left on the charger when not in use.al wilhelm
Asked on 11/22/2014 by AL from GOLD HILL NORTH CAROLINA

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

I'm glad to assist, Al! A float charger would be the best option to keep your Autocraft 8-Volt Deep-Cycle Golf Cart Service Battery (Part No. GC8) charged. I recommend a microprocessor controlled charger to provide longer battery life and more efficient charging. Always follow the instructions for your charger to ensure safe charging. Most chargers will recommend that you still monitor the charger to ensure no faults occur.

I suggest using a charger that is indicated for 8-volt batteries. This type of charger is not available on AdvanceAutoParts.com. I suggest checking with your local Advance Auto Parts store or golf cart dealer for availability.

can this battery unit be used for a ford 9N ford tractor with a 6 volt electrical system?

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

I'm happy to help, JB! I do not recommend using this Autocraft Golf Cart 8-Volt Deep Cycle Service Battery for your application. You mention your Ford 9N tractor has a 6-volt electrical system. I suggest a 6-volt battery for your application, such as the AutoCraft 6-Volt Light Truck, Farm Tractor and Older-Model-Car Maintenance-Free Battery (Part No. 1-1). This is also the original group size for your Ford 9N tractor.

            A:

With respect to your inquiry on the Autocraft Golf Cart 8-Volt Golf Cart/Electric Vehicle Deep-Cycle Service Battery 128AH - Part No. GC8 golf cart batteries normally take 2-8 hours to fully charge. Some carts with older batteries will take longer because of the sulfur build up they have accumulated over time. Another factor is the extent of use you put on the cart before charging it. Make sure to check the water levels before charging your unit and never overfill the batteries. Also note that golf cart batteries need to be charged after every use, even short drives. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
