Comments about AutoCraft Engine Cylinder Hone:

Bought this last year to hone diesel engine. Stones wore out quickly. Bought new stones the other day and two fell apart taking out of package. Could get just about one cylinder honed before having to glue stones back on. Did a good job but spent more time gluing stones back on then honing. Next time I'll buy better quality.

Comments about AutoCraft Engine Cylinder Hone:

Like another, a stone fell off taking from package. Hot glued back on as that's how they are to start with and this was only 1 store had. After 1 cylinder had to reglue stone. Doing 2nd cylinder flexable shaft unscrewed, had to run drill in reverse. 3rd and 4th hole the 3rd stone wouldn't stay on so covered metal with hot glue.
Putting back in package 2 stones fell off.
      This thing is junk.

Comments about AutoCraft Engine Cylinder Hone:

For the price, it is well built. Much better than the wheel cylinder hones. Quality could be better. It tends to stick a tad, on the adjustment. If one is gentle, it should work just fine.

Comments about AutoCraft Engine Cylinder Hone:

This hone comes with 220 grit stones, although it does not say so anywhere on the package and what passes for 'instructions' that come with it. If you don't know how to use this type of hone, go to youtube and watch some of the instructional videos there.

Yes, after doing eight cylinders that needed quite a bit of clean up, the stones did start chipping and cracking towards the end of the job. Adavance Auto sells a set of replacement stones for $10, Part No. AC528/W80561, but still this is something you would only want to get for a one-time job, not regular use in any shop environment. Tension on the stone arms is adjustable by turning the top collar ring.,
