This tool is made from pot metal and the "nubs" intended to engage the piston will wear away quickly.

This is supposed to be a "Universal Tool" - but it did not fit ANY of the calipers on my Mustang (Cobra calipers) or my Taurus.

Spend the money and get a real tool. The price on this poor substitute is scandalous.

Comments about Autocraft Disc Brake Piston Remover:

Purchased this from my local Advance Auto Parts store to turn-in the rear brake caliper pistons on my 2002 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe. It worked great!

It is an inexpensive yet effective tool if you are replacing the rear brake pads on your Honda Accord.

Simply attach it to a 3/8" ratchet (with an extension bar), and you can turn the caliper piston with ease.

Seems to work fine on my son's Hyundai, but "not so much" on my wife's Ford Freestar. Small, versatile, stores easily on my 3/8ths socket holder. Seems OK for the general DIY mechanic - except for Fords, per the reviews.

Is not compatable with my Mustang. Took it back to the store and they said I had to shave down the prongs to get it to work on a ford. The prongs dont look strong enough to shave them down as much as needed.

Most of these "Universal" tools are made of pot metal. I did try to use it. But, this tool will not work on the 1999 Ford Taurus rear disc calipers. None of the tabs would line up. So, I returned it and made my own out of an old wrench. The design is terrible. Trying to turn a wire like square while holding a disc caliper is an unacceptable and dangerous solution.
