      • Q:

I want to test the battery in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee to determine what is draining it. I understand how to connect the leads to my NEG battery post and the NEG batter cable lead. Which socket to do I insert the red lead into? The 10A or the VohmA socket? Also, where do I set the dial? I am trying to determine the amount of drain. Thank you.
Asked on 8/30/2012 by Nicko from Hartford, CT

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

For voltage measurement plug the Red test lead into the VOMA input jack on the Autocraft Digital Multi-Tester Tool (Part No. 85357). To set the dial set the 'Selector' switch to the ACV or DCV voltage position. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

          A:

I wish I was able to provide more information on that for you. For your safety we are not able to diagnose any problems that you are having with the draining problem. I would suggest that you can get a proper assistance from a ASE certified mechanic to avoid intermittence.
